Probably the best Vader reveal sculpt I have seen. Looks f'n pissed! Well done.
very cool... do you have the jump suit pattern that you may want to share? I want to finish a jumps suit but no pattern...
I was looking for an update on your amazing figure...
Sorry no new updates, got side tracked again. Here's a preview:
A great looking custom for sure, but I don't get the concept of Vader without the mask on, for me no mask means death for Vader.
I think that was a great missed opportunity in ROTJ to show Vader gasping for air without the mask before he dies
Well, I'm pretty sure he's from Star Wars, The Force Unleashed.
If you haven't played the game/read the book adapted from the game, I won't spoil it for you, but it's from when Starkiller (Vader's secret apprentice) fights Vader, Vader gets beat up pretty bad.
It looks absolutely awesome! So are you gonna tell us how you did it? A recipe, if you will?
Dude, Spoil it for me! So his apprentice did this to him? What happened to the apprentice? And which book is this story line from?
Recipe was pretty easy, the chest armor, mask, gloves and chest box were butchered up with a dremel and wire cutters. The head is from the Hasbro Vader with added neck to fit the sideshow buck body. The body was done a few years ago, its an extended buck with epoxy putty smeared all over and textured using ceran wrap. The clothes were the most fun, just took a lighter to them to give it that ripped burnt look.
Spoiler:so the apprentice is pretty much raised by darth vader and a few secret personnel. Vader took the boy in on Kashyyyk, where he fought and killed the boy's father (a Jedi who survived Order 66). He could sense the boy's force potential, so he pretty much taught him everything he knew, preparing for the day when, supposedly, he and his apprentice would overthrow the Emperor and they would rule the galaxy together. The Emperor catches their drift and finds Vader with the secret apprentice, commanding Vader to kill him to prove his loyalty. He stabs his apprentice and throws him through a window (they're in a star destroyer at the time.) The apprentice is thrown out into space, and the Emperor is convinced he is dead. A few seconds after the Emperor leaves the ship, Vader's droids go out and recover his body, then resucitate him (no mechanical parts or anything, he's just alive again). From this point on, the apprentice doesn't trust Vader much anymore. Vader assigns him the task of forming a rebellion to distract the Emperor to make him easier to overthrow. So pretty much the apprentice makes a few "good guy" friends, including Bail and Leia Organa and sets up for the rebellion. At this point, the apprentice really turns good, and goes to confront vader and the emperor. He arrives at the first Death Star, which is under construction and is constantly testing it's laser beams in tunnels you have to go through (the beam will fire, you as the apprentice will have to duck into a doorway until it stops for a sec, then keep going). So he finally gets to where the Emperor is, so Vader won't let him attack yet. At the end of the fight that ensues, vader gets pretty beat up by the apprentice (you can watch the fight here

at 4:19 he loses his helmet, a little before that he loses other parts)
Now as the character you have two choices: to continue fighting vader and finish him off after you get to the next room (which you force blast him into) or leave him alone (he's too weak to come out and fight you, he'll only fight again if you purposefully go down to where he is to fight). If you leave him alone you fight the Emperor. When the apprentice (you in the game) pretty much beat the Emperor, he taunts the apprentice, telling him to give into his anger and kill him. He hesitates and pretty much is crushed to death by the emperor. The other option is to continue the fight with Vader, then I think once he's dead, you get crushed, but the Emperor brings you back as a vader-like cyborg. And that's pretty much the entire game right there.
The storyline is from the game itself, then adapted into a novel...
anyway...

Thanks for the info, I really enjoyed the video's. Crap now I gotta make an apprentice!
your welcome!
I wouldn't be doing my part as a star wars nerd unless I could tell everyone almost anything about the SW universe! (I don't accept Clone Wars as canon, I mean the show used Tom Kenny, AKA SPONGEBOB as a guest voice actor who played some stupid, annoying sounding coruscant security officer. He had security droids too! Completely defeats the purpose of the shocktroopers and the 41st elite! I keep thinking "well, maybe the CW isn't that bad, maybe it's gotten better" and then I watch an episode and I end up screaming inaccuracies at the nearest human being... anyway, rant over)
I was trying to work on an apprentice at one point, but things didn't work out and I just can't find good ways to make certain parts of him... it sucks because I spent about $50 getting him started...
