This is the reason Darth_Fatso;

He pushed down the hat from the back, closer to the ponytail.. but I believe that if he push down the hat slightly from the front too, then, the Hat would fit even much better

I wonder if dunknig the hat in hot water and shaping it to the form of the head would work to make it not look so puffed up. That's what I do with clothign to get it to fit better on bodies.

Not sure, but It seems an elastic strip or band, so I think it should not be very difficult to get that the ponytail pass through the gap... or maybe the ponytail can be removed easily ?

I had already thought of using the hot water trick too.., In fact it worked pretty well with some of my old HT military figures

Well i not sure
and i don't want to try,i had bad experiences with dramatic poses.
