Can't you guys just say you don't like girl figures, rather than keep calling it a Barbie? It's a little bit unfair on Hot Toys, because that's a comparison you can't avoid when it comes to making 1/6 female figures with lifelike hair (A must for this character)
I don't think anyone's faulting Hot Toys. There's just something naturally awkward about 12" female figures, likelike hair or not.

the regular female TT has gigantic boobs... way too much so... I had to shave them down for my Leia and wish i could do the same for my Silk Spectre

:lecture Agree 100% The standard female true type was too big. Bust and hips out of proportion to the rest of the body.

Actually this is probably the closest the industry has come to a normal human looking 1/6 female figure body.

You guys all want to exaggerate the female shape to such extremes that we end up with some freakish disaster looking porn star reject thing from Triad Toys, with boobs that extend off the chest like torpedoes defying gravity :monkey4

Not all women look like this, and most of the time, the characters we want to recreate do not have these proportions anyway. But we never have any other option

I would assume we'll get a a reworked headsculpt and some more accessories by the time she ships. HT has been doing that more and more lately. Aldo's head come out better than the proto and the T-800 came with an extra black shirt. So adding the mace, little grenades, cord, etc wouldn't be out of the question. They would also help justify the $150+ price they'll surely ask for her. I'm hoping lower, but I doubt it when they know they can cash in on her regardless.

I'm with you on the price. They keep knocking it out of the park with these figures so it's getting spendy fast. Of course I didn't really expect much less.

I'm seeing IM2 this Saturday :yess: so I guess I will be more educated about what she used in the movie but I would have liked to have seen her come with more.

BTW, can anyone confirm that pic we had yesterday, the one of the "bust", was that from this figure? I was just wondering if it was for sure or not. It kind of got pushed aside once the pics started rolling in.

It's a real nice looking figure and definately HT's prettiest female figure yet but theres somthing off. I can't put my finger on it. You can tell it's supposed to be Scarlett but at the same time the likness is only about 98%. It looks like it could be her sister or something. Also the chest seems a little on the small side for Scarlett as well lol. However the hair look really good and this is comming from a guy who prefers sculpted hair on female figures. I still prefer sculpted hair but the way HT's going, that may change in the near future.

I think it is quite an amazing figure. Not perfect, as always, but anyways perfection doesn't exist, right? It is a great representation of a movie character, and obviously she doesn't look like a Barbie at all...why would she? Because she is a female? :cuckoo: I am sure that out there there will always be someone who will call this kind of figures "toys", what surprises me is that even some collectors name them like that :slap.

The only thing I would be worried about is the hair, which I think it will have to be rearranged in order to look decent, and above all the costume...those cracks look suspicious

The figure has a pretty big chest as seen from the Plastic Enemies pics... that dude just zipped her outfit further down cause he was a little pervy... :lol

And, I would not mind if HT gelled her hair so it was thick/hard so it couldn't become messy like other companies do with Fashion dolls.

Are they kidding with this headsculpt? I see literally no Scarlet Johansen in there...

I think everything looks good, I wouldn't mind the clothing material to be changed to the correct kind as long as it looks good or better than the prototype. But one of my main concerns is will the sculpt have ears? I'm not sure if the horrible silk spectre figure had ears or not

It's she's at the expo can someone grab aka steal her for me. I'll pay whatever. I need her now!!!!!!!!! Lol. Face sculpt IMO dead on!

Worst expression on a fig since Jedi Luke.

Other than that looks good.

EXACT same mouth expression as jedi luke. makes monkies sad. but mayhaps it'll change.

just got the PO price from my supplier, its $115USD.
If this is true, AWESOME.

with her mouth open... I would have thought HT was gonna pose her like this :panic:

The fact that they didn't use this pose in a promo shot gives me reason to think she's not that articulated. Which would be a shame.

I don't think even the regular female truetype can get that pose. in general, they are not that articulated. their butt prohibits it. now, if the butt was molded in soft plastic like the torso, it would work better. not to mention if it has better knees.

even with all those failings, I'll get one if the 115$ pricequote is correct.

The rooted hair automatically makes me think of Barbie, but if people are uncomfortable with the comparison, then I'll try to respect that. I'm no Barbie expert, but I am certain that in terms of quality, HT blows it out of the water on every possible front.

I'm not against girl dolls if it is a character I like, but I would only be interested in something that looks similar to the other figures I collect. To me, the rooted hair takes it out of that realm, and makes it an entirely different kind of toy. I don't know why it is a must for female figures anymore than rooted hair is a must for male figures (which it isn't, IMO). Or why it is appropriate (even important!) for a female figure to be anatomically correct (including squishy boobs) when an anatomically correct male figure would, I'm sure, be universally ridiculed. There is a double standard there. I would personally prefer none of my toys to be anatomically correct under their clothes. And if HT was consistent in giving the girls sculpted hair and no squishy "nasty bits," I might be more inclined to buy them.

Of course, this is just my opinion. As I said before, I am not the market being targeted with this figure. I have never considered a toy or statue "sexy" before, and probably never will. But the further in this direction HT goes, the less likely I ever will buy a female toy of theirs.

I've been thinking why they never do that myself and it's for that very reason. No one would really want 'that' on their shelf even if it is for and arrival Terminator.

I can't say I disagree with you karamazov80 but nor do I agree.

Yes rooted hair does take it closer to the 'dolly' realm but I think you are too fixated with the hair.
Would you prefer this to have plastic hair instead?
Where does She-Predator Machiko fit in all this?

Plastic hair would have restricted her head movement and probably not look as great. I think longer hair characters in general should be rooted (female or male)
