What other style of troopers would you have fighting in the forrest? Fleet troopers with thier gray blimp helmets that got owned in 2 seconds? No, you prolly would have GI Joe style.

DAMN! No new issue of SWI yet. Usually I get it by now. I'll give it to the end of the week.

As far as the GI Joe thing. Well they where just plain looking military figures in the SW movie. Not sure how you could make them look different. If they did then you'd have folks *****ing they aren't screen accurate.

Josh has a good point. We need to keep in mind that Lucas drew pretty heavily from real-life articles to use as props... So if they look alittle like G.I. Joe thats prolly because they are (pretty much).

The article says that they will retail for "around $59.99." Around--does that mean it could be less? $55 is right around the corner from $59.99.



I still have hope that since the helmets, rifles, bandoliers, belts, canteens, pants, etc. are all shared between the figures, that the pooled R&D and production costs might help reduce MSRP a little.

Oh, forget it. Wishful thinking...

On the other hand--call me naive, but I still believe that there is a reason behind the prices that Sideshow sets for these things. I don't think that they are just raising prices because the line is popular and they know we will pay whatever they ask. If the prices are higher, it just means that the costs for producing these figures has gone up. If you want to blame it on somebody, blame this chick for demanding a raise (and a more comfortable chair):

My folks and sister tease me about my 12" figures. They usually give me a hard time when I'm taking my pictures and adjusting the pose. So now when I have one coming in I just tell them hey UPS will be bringing me a new doll tomorrow. It's all in good fun. I love joking about them being dolls, man dolls, action figures, etc.
