Honestly I’m kind of glad I never ordered the Dr. No figures. Seems like Big Chief has a lot of delays, and while I like my Roger Moore Bond it didn’t wow me so much that I want to throw a bunch of resources at the line.

Covid backlog and financial issues would be my guess.

Not sure how Bond is selling overall but 6 figures in 5 years says a lot. Not BCS's prime line probably.

I'm hoping that they rethink their next figures... meaning Dalton. I'd like to see this line continue but I just don't think there's enough Dalton fans out there. If they have to release Dalton due to license requirements then I hope they also offer either more Connery, The Spy Who Loved Me, or a Craig set (Casino Royale would be perfect). This line needs a boost of excitement.

I don't mean to dump Dalton -- and BCS won't -- I just mean, also tease the next line-up which would hopefully be a more popular Bond/movie.

If they offer Dalton next and he isn't delivered for another year and then tease, say, Lazenby which is two years away... then I'll be waiting three years from now to get maybe something I want. I would be very sad to have to wait until 2024 for something I want.

Let's think with a little honesty and common sense here, though. The Covid malarkey has affected production of everything known to hobbyists, but many companies and individuals are still getting around to doing things eventually, and this was an issue even before the arrival of 'rona.

I'm a railway modeller and even us nerds have managed to see China-made products manufactured and released within the pandemic, including a crowdfunded model of a gas turbine locomotive nobody's ever heard of. Some stuff has even been announced and released during the pandemic. Granted, Big Chief is a tiny company in comparison to, say, Hornby. But, probably not smaller than a crowdfunding campaign.

I would be very interested to know what on God's green earth is going on. Seriously hope some Only Fools and Horses bobbleheads haven't taken priority over the one and only 007. It's driving me up the wall, this :gah:

With the world being in a mess right now i'd cut BCS some slack.

Here's an update i got a week ago on the upcoming Third Dr release

Dear Customer,

We are delighted to share some more production images of the soon to be shipped Third Doctor Sixth Scale Character Replica Figure.

We received these images this week, just ahead of a QC inspection prior to pack out.

Now we know that you have all been waiting patiently for these figures and we know that delays are frustrating, we really, really do. Unfortunately there have been a few issues that have resulted in production taking longer then we had hoped.

A number of the workers at our vendor's factory did not return to work until mid March, some three weeks after the end of the Chinese New Year holiday. The Chinese government imposed a staggered return to work following the break, to avoid further spread of the second wave of the Covid 19 virus. With reduced staff the factory were not able to operate at full capacity and production slowed.

The BBC also requested some changes to the packaging for the figure, which meant that certain elements needed to be re-printed.

All of this aside the figures are looking superb and will soon be ready for final QC inspection. We anticipate that the figures will be shipped before the end of the month and will keep you posted.

In the meantime we hope you enjoy the images.

Take care and stay safe
BCS

Thanks for that. Clearly covid is the major culprit here recently.

That said, covid has been only this past year. Since 2016 we have gotten 6 figures. The glacial pace of the 007 line simply saddens me. But surely if there was good money in it, the market would drive it faster. I am happy that we're even getting what we're getting though. Just greedily wish for more.

Tricky one that,

In his prime, Sean Connery was 6' 3", so any 1/6 body that made him scale height would be taller than most TT's. OneSixthKit did do taller bodies. The problem will then be getting clothes that would fit the taller body. I think, if you want him to look right, without breaking the bank, you're going to have to stick with what you have. Yunsil may have made a Bond suit, but, I don't think even that was for a scale height body.

Let's put this here in the MAIN THREAD...

Bond's tuxedo looks quite blue there... but I'm going to attribute this to the lighting in that room (it also seems to make No's outfit cream and drains Ming of his vibrant reds).

Here's a better picture of the midnight blue tux...

Hmm, judging by the length of that neck, one could well imagine the shirt collars on the production shirt being quite stiff and thick. We will see....

Does anyone know which companies have made official 1/6 James Bond over the years? I'm having a hard time finding a list of licensed figures that were made.

AC Gilbert, Mego and Sideshow are the ones I know of.
