Well needing a brake from the droids and having nearly finished the final 5 I have been thinking about the next project.

A while back a good friend on the forum asked me to have a go at a Lancer bike from the clone wars cartoon. Of course those who know me know that I am just girl who can't say no, well a bloke actually.

So drake sent me a speeder from the USA and......
here is the pic!! LOL.

Any way it seems pretty hard to find images of a lancer speeder but we found a couple.

Well I know this is gonna be a long project but as always I will do my best to post pics all the way.

If any one has pics please let me know. Mad thing is I don't even have an Obi Wan clone commander or even a clone trooper.... may one day.

I have made a start... and there is a lot of work to do. I think most is gonna have to be scratch built... oww joy

Ow BTW if any body has a spare speeder that they have hacked up or is broken or dont want and they would like to donate that would be fab.

.

Looks like I'm gonna have to hack up my speeder to get a couple of parts :( Ah well it's all in the name of art..

Well we will see. It is gonna be one very long project, and there is no way I am gonna get it screen accurate but I like a challenge!!

Wow. Look great so far. Can I get more tips on the steps between these. It must take a ton of sanding? I really hate the sanding! Can I get a shot of the packaging for that putty you use? Thanks!

Prog for you anything!!

The filler I use is a car body filler. The problems with it is it is really tough and a bugger to sand. But it is really strong. I think you can get easy sand stuff. The other bonus is it is pretty cheap.

To bridge the gaps before sanding I would palsticard sheets. Its ace and glue gun it on. I actually used cardboard on this because I knew it would be nowhere near the surface.

All I want to get at the moment is the basic shape really so I can get a feel of it.

I will try to take as many shots as poss on the way.

Oww I forgot to mention spaying with car primer, this helps show up all the imperfections. :)

This is what i've recently been using. Its also auto putty, but I have a feeling its not what you're using. this stuff is really grainy and unfortunately all I can find was in red.

thanks i ran out of paint last week. those little spray cans for models don't go far at all!

Tell me about it.... ! You might want to consider acrylic paints such as Krylon. You can get it at arts and crafts stores. The cans are full size and cost about the same as hobby paints( although not sure why that is). May be a cheaper alternative to consider.

Guys car spay is way cheaper!!

Well prog u asked to see pics in progress well... This pic is bad but its dark in the UK LOL. I have hacked up my beloved speeder ( icruise said he will send me one, god I love this forum, folks are just so nice) I will attempt to attach the front end, and fill it OMG SOOO much filler, but it is the only way!! Its gonna way a ton to send back to Drake3 in the USA!!!

thanks for all the advice. i'll check out the autopaint and I think I'm gonna start using more brushed craft acrylic too. the cheapness outways the visible streaks I think.

Hey remember this??? I started ages ago for Drake3 nad really stuggled with it... Think its about time I got back on with it!!
