I dunno about that shade of red, but that body is definitely on point and a major improvement over the HT one!

It really isn’t hitting the mark and you didn’t really address my points about Hot Toys’ quality and your “trade-offs”? Just kinda hand waved it off. Objectively, it is an inaccurate figure with QC issues figure on a premium line and others see that as well? There isn’t confirmation bias here.

Red didn't need to be darker but the body is a huge improvement. Actually looks like an adult on the right.

Not really sure what body the customizer used

Canceled my preorder as well . I had hoped there would be improvements from the prototype, especially regarding the skinny body. Oh well, the $300 are going to serve me better for my InArt Aragorn preorder (sculpted).

It does, but Tobey wasn’t particularly buff in NWH. I’m hoping future versions will replicate the “wider” Spidey of SM2/3.

My guess is they didn’t use a new body, just sculpted on top of the existing body. My favorite part is the improvement to the neck joint and the suit stretched over it.

That's a huge improvement. Tobey head just looks ridiculous on the stock body.

Still can't believe Hot Toys dropped the ball on this. It's Tobey Maguire Spider-Man FFS!

If only they actually used a material like this on the figure too. I dunno why Hot Toys is obsessed with making Red/Blue sections on Spidey figured out of 2 different fabrics.

Still in for this guy despite the issues (I totally get why people are cancelling). I've jumped on the waitlist at SS...presumably the chance of a conversion will be pretty good given the overall sentiment of disappointment.

Sure seems like you should have a good shot at a conversion based on this thread. I'm still in for him as well and got under the pre-order wire before it went wait list. Again, I'm displaying unmasked so the issues with the masked head don't impact me...

Unfortunately I paid both those POs upfront so will still allow my Tobey-Man to be delivered instead of eating a 15% cancellation fee.
I didn’t think there’d be a chance in hell I could ever be disappointed in a Tobey Spider-Man.

Hopefully I can find a couple of chumps on eBay who can act as my means of getting a full refund for these failures.

Yea it sad. Also if I’m not mistaken this was the most anticipated figure from the whole film. Seriously they had two years.

I had them both pre-ordered, but thankfully Popcultcha allows you to cancel for store credit, so I did.

You know it's a disappointing release when even Justin isn't full of praise for the figure.

The mask is a disaster, no getting away from that.

Red looks okay but the material used on the blue parts just looks wrong. Blue looks too dark as well.

I usually feel like people nitpick way too much about HT figures, but this one is hard to justify. I don't mind the neck/head area, seam doesn't bother me that much, the eyes aren't as bad to me as people are making them out to be. But something about the shape of the figure overall is just strange to me

The big thing bothering me though is honestly the colors. The red feels way too bright to me and the blue way too dark, and the web lines shine a bit too much

Im not sure what ill end up doing. Im sort of on my way out of the 1/6 collecting game and told myself the three Spideys from NWH would be my last figures, but this has me feeling a little more comfortable with selling the couple NWH figures I did get and finally being done with collecting.
