Considering you have requested a few replacements can't you request the next replacement to be opened up and checked out before they send it to you?

I did that last time and this time. Doesn't seem to make a difference.

Same thing with me with hulk piece. Daniel who is the support manager says they inspect the pieces from about 3 feet away and they send it.... I received my hulk and his foot didn’t fit. So it really doesn’t matter

I request every piece I order to be inspected before shipping. Yet I have almost 100% return rate. The last statue I kept was the mark 7 half scale.

That is terrible are they blind?
No. They think that if you can't see the defect from 3ft away than it shouldn't matter because you shouldn't be viewing the statue closer than 3ft.

I don't understand how you can have a 100% return rate and still keep ordering from SS. It's like getting food poisoning at a restaurant 3 times and still going back another 10 times LOL! why? unless you're a gluten for punishment :rotfl

I look at it like eventually I'll get one that's actually worth keeping.

Given your success/failure rate with Sideshow I'm guessing that you have both bad luck and possibly you may be expecting a much higher level of quality for your Sideshow pieces than many collectors. Which is fine, as you have to be happy with the pieces that you're spending so much money on, but it may be time to throw in the towel when it comes with Sideshow pieces.

I just want a non defective statue. Sideshow has tried to fix the issues but sadly the replacement turned out to be wrose than the first one.

I don’t blame Jimbob29 for not being happy. Even if it’s something like light bleeding through the gauntlet. $1200 is not chump change. Why should we as collectors receive an inferior product. Defects don’t go away if you see it once it will always tarnish the experience when looking at it. Send it back!

Your right as unfortunately defects will always be in the eye of the beholder.

Out of the 70 or so statues that I've purchased that are between $500 to $3000 AUD, there are probably less than 10 of those of which I will say are perfect (without even the smallest of any paint problems).

Even the guy that handles my accounts over at Popcultcha jokes that I go over my pieces with a fine tooth comb and a magnifying glass. But I've only returned a few due to actual breakages and have received a few replacement parts here and there. Even now I could go through my collection and point out relatively small paint, glue, fitting or lean defects on a large portion of them unfortunately.

As I originally started with Hot Toys prior to me collecting statues, I had to substantially decrease my quality expectations as imo the 1/6 scale figures come nearly perfect in box whereas because statues are hand painted they will never be as crisp with the paint app. If I didn't allow for small problems I probably would have the same return rate as Jimbob29.

Bleeding, cracks, blobs, scratches etc i would not accept.

Other than cracks I could probably point to too many of my statues that may have the others :dunno

Other than breakages the one issue which I will never except are eye alignment issues. They drive me nuts.

Small issues I have no problem with. Like someone said there hand painted.
