Yeah the original Sideshow Indy line definitely had oversized heads.
Raiders Indy looked kind of bobblehead toy to me :)

They are definitely oversized by today's standards (though I find they are actually fine side-by-side with standard HT figures once put on better bodies) and yeah, the German Indy and TLC Indy are probably the largest.

But part of the problem was that all the Sideshow bodies they came on in those days were pretty short. Out of the box some SSC Indy figs were maybe 11 1/2" when HF should be a bit over 12" in 1/6, and Sean Connery would also be over 12". Put on better proportioned 12" bodies, the oversized head issue isn't as noticeable.

The other issue for me is that so many of the Sideshow Indy figures we'll probably never see again in 1/6 - Belloq, Toht, Henry etc. Even if they do make a new Indy film, it's unlikely these characters will be revisited in 1/6, so they're really the only figs you can use if you want a bigger Indy display beyond just Indy (which I do - I have well over a dozen.)

I just really, really wish that it wasn't on the TOD Indy that Sideshow (I assume accidentally) made the head size a bit below "normal" 1/6 scale. It's a little smaller than even a standard HT head (which itself has gotten a touch smaller over the past few years,) and it makes it that much harder to display him alongside the rest of the Indy figs.

I found I like the TOD head best as a German Indy (i.e. with hairpiece on, no fedora - and more 11 3/4" height, to accomodate for the smaller head) and that makes the undersize thing all the more apparent next to the other figs, even though the TOD fedora itself is pretty oversized compared to the head and doesn't help with the issue.

Any interest in this headsculpt? PM me for details.

Two DX05 fedoras and one DX05 jacket available now. PM me if interested.

FYI, just be careful selling stuff so widely without that premium member thing - not many Mods checking in the Indy section so you're prob fine but I think it's an infraction or something.

Quick question, has anyone tried putting this sideshow head on the hot toys indiana dx body? Is that possible?

Sorry, went through most of the thread and did not find the answer...

The DX Indy head has a ball socket attachment on (it rather than on the neck as usual). You would have to add the barbell to the DX neck to use the SS Indy head.

I got this on eBay recently at a good price. Nice figure though the head is pretty small and the hat is the worst yet. Very short on the front brim and badly fitting the head. Everything else really nice. Though should have given him a realistic knee joint through that pants leg rip/cut. I put my raiders head on it and size looks good.

^^ Is that the WGP Indy? can't tell from the angle.

The Sideshow head is a little undersized and the HT body is pretty full muscle body, so you might have a bit of pinhead with that head/body combination.

Thanks for the info, we will see how it looks as I ordered one off ebay. Hopefully it works!....worst case, I switch out the bodies or pick up the sideshow version.

[RESIZE][/RESIZE]Thanks Bmarz1000 for the sovereign studios leather jacket. I tried on Temple of Doom Indy and really like it with the hot toys hat. Will probably use the jacket for my Raiders Indy and the hot toys jacket with this figure.
