That shot of HB that Loomis posted does it make it even more tempting. But for me to get it, it would have to be heavily discounted. I remember when Igor got like 30% off one time. Fingers crossed HB gets that kind of treatment after being released for a while.

I highly doubt this would get the 30% discount. At 30% that would be $247.50 off, no way SSC will give that kind of discount. I can see 10% the highest they would got if stock stayed around that long. I'm sure Hot Toys is going to make just enough Hulkbusters so there isn't a huge overstock.

Yeah I would bet they aren't producing too much over the amount of preorders they have for this. It's too big and expensive to just sit in stock.

Honestly I think that Igor not moving well had more to do with Hulkbuster getting announced, there was some overlap as I recal.

Yeah I think that a lot of people only wanted one of the bigger armors and probably only willing to lay down the cash for one. Since it was known that Hulkbuster was going to be featured a bit more prominently than Igor who was just one of the House Party Protocol armors who showed up for a few seconds I'm guessing the sales for Igor probably suffered a bit. Truth be told I still think Igor looks a bit cooler visually. This is larger and more traditional Iron Man colors but I think I'd have gone with Igor if I was set on getting one of them.

Still fresh on my mind... :)

Its the only armor I don't own, won't own. Unless its majorly discounted. I just can't drop that much on a collectible

Isn't the HB suppose to pacify the Hulk and not fight him? :dunno "Sun's getting real low, my puny Banner."

Not really. It's a last resort. In case pacification doesn't work. He's the containment suit.

What else is a hulk buster supposed to do?
I get what you're saying. I just think it's a lot to justify spending on a pretty one note armor unless you're a hardcore Iron Man fan. I think it's cool and look forward to seeing reviews but just way too rich for my blood for one figure.

I must say i'm not a hardcore IM fan and find it $300 over-priced. In retrospect, this figure's mass and design is very befitting of its role in AOU. Judging from photos, its mass is equivalent to 6x 1/6 scale IM figures . Currently, we won't find any toy company other than HT, King Arts, and Comicave capable of:

a.) acquiring a Marvel license
b.) absorbing labour costs
c.) affording Warehouse/Storage costs
d.) affording Shipping costs (export of goods & import of materials)
e.) investing in R&D:
- ensuring high detail & high quality products
-incorporating the correct type/grade of materials (metal alloys & plastics)
-creating injection moldings for die-cast and plastics
-acquiring CAD Software licenses ($7000-10,000 ea)

HT HB works out to be $137 per "limb" & torso (equivalent to a 1/6 figure) -all assembled, articulated, and painted. Perhaps i'm trying to justify making such a large purchase, but hey it makes sense to me. If anyone here can do HT level of quality or better, I'll gladly become their customer -though, the price better be significantly lower than HT/Comicaves :)

If this was done as a one off custom it would cost 5k or more. A well done 1/6 custom figure will set you back 600-1200 bucks. Sorry, but asking anyone to replicate that level of detail and articulation and features on anything close to this its going to cost WAY more then hot toys not less.

My point exactly. It's challenging enough to meet the above requirements let alone keep the cost of figures relatively "low." If we can afford 6x 1/6 scale figures as part of our collections, we can afford a single HT HB. I'm certain HT HB will exceed -or- at the very least meet all our expectations once we unbox it.

Anyone familiar with how Midtown Comics ships HT figures (eg. double-box, sans brown shipper, etc.)?

I've had this guy on pre-order from MC for almost a year and have become accustomed to the double-boxing from BBTS & Alter Ego.

I've ordered hot toys from midtown comics before, they do a great job with packaging, they double box their items.

To do a perfect grade gundam custom with no modification by award winning modeller cost around Usd$1500 at my place and that's not including the model itself. So I thought the price is ok for Hulkbuster. Having said that, my wallets still feel painful though. Haha
