....Anyone ever thought about using painted cinder blocks to raise a detolf just a few inches off the floor? I have a bank of five with collectables on top but would love to raise them up just off the floor so the bottom shelves are more in line-of-sight.

I used IKEA Dioder LED strips for lighting. I also made light baffles cut in 15" segments from 7 foot drywall corner moulding strips sold in hardware stores. I covered the right angle clear plastic strips with black vinyl tape to make them opaque (I guess you can also paint them). I then used double-sided tape to attach the light covers to the front edge of each glass shelf over the Dioder light strips. This helps cut the glare that you get with naked Dioder strips as your looking at the display from the front. Here's a closer photo.

These look great! What did you do for lighting?

Hi guys can anyone help me i have a bit of a dillema i have 6 detolfs at the moment and it fits perfectly to the back wall of my office room but now tryin to check for raiser to use cant find one that can fit all 6 w/o it being short or too long for my back wall .. Measurements are as follow

6Pcs Detolf measured as 100 1/2 inches width for all
Left Wall to Right Wall measured as 110 inches ( this is where all 6 detolf is standing at the moment)

This besta TV bench measures width at 47 1/4 inches or 94 1/2 inches for 2 pieces i dunno if a difference of being short of around 5 inches for a 6 detolf side by side display will make a difference
BESTÅ TV bench - black-brown - IKEA

Also looking at Kallax but cant fit 2 pcs side by side since my max space from left wall to right wall is only 110 inches while 2 Kallax side by side is measured at around 116inches

KALLAX Shelving unit - white - IKEA

Also checkin this one MOSJO i can buy 3 pieces and measurement for 3 would be around 105inches but iam worried that per piece cant hold 2 detolf for long and the it might warped

MOSJÖ TV bench - IKEA

Can anyone give me any insight on how to properly proceed with this ? Or any other suggestion for any raiser that can fit 6 pcs detolf safely either solo long piece or a combination of multiple pieces.

I just used the screw in feet that comes with the Besta unit. They're useful for leveling the unit. I wouldn't use the legs.

Question: Did you buy the legs for the BESTA TV unit? I ordered mine earlier this week but on further review, they don't come with legs? Do I need them? Or is it better to have the entirety of the bottom of the unit to on the ground to support the detolfs?

I decided to go with this build (4 detols/besta tv stand) and it has worked great. Make sure your besta stand has all the correct holes in it as my bottom piece did not and was a bit of a *****. The screw in feet are the WA to go for level in, I definitely wouldn't buy legs for it still working on lighting but ill post pics when its finished. Great build, thanks for posting it I'm so glad I found this forum!!

How wide are the shelves of a detolf? Are they same width as the frame or wider? Just wondering if it would be possible to put the frames right next to each other when building a dual detolf or if one would need some distance.

Was going to head to IKEA today but will have to be next week now.

I am making a custom unit for my detolfs since i have limited height. I couldn't go much higher than 12" and it was super difficult to find anything that short.

This is my setup with the tv stand. Its sweet, but the swivel nut..bolt things are only plastic, i might upgrade these to metal if homebase have them. Apart from that its spot on [emoji106]

Very nice! Mine will be VERY similar. How did you run the cables for your lights? Drill holes? If so, where?

The cables are zip tied together down the right side then pop out behind the lower door hinge

Nice set up...are those dioder lights? Old or newer? They look like the warm whites.

Anyone raised a single Detolf? I only have one.

Was looking at this but not sure if I'd trust the stability...

This looks stronger but at twice the price...

Gonna go my local store and stand on them for a bit :)

Mate forget that first one, i have that, a detolf would utterly destroy it
