I was surprised by that line. I'm not sure I'd say that I didn't like it but it was unexpected that he'd just come out and say it so simply. Normally superhero movies/shows find some other way to do it that isn't a straightforward line of dialogue.

I would have to agree with that one.

Silence! A loss of words is all we needed! It would've been cliche, but way less cliche (and cheesy) than declaring it IMO

Don't misunderstand my long winded rant though. I'm focusing on some things that bugged me, but if I listed the positives my post would've been 10x as long. I may have a bit of binge fatigue too. A lot of times the 2nd(or more) time I watch something, many of the rough edges that were initially really grating start to smooth out

Watched Ep 12 again because I was half asleep the first time. The episode was a lot better the second time around, especially DD's fight scenes. However the Col, Karen and Frank part of the episode still doesn't make much sense to me.

Don't know if it was down to binge watching but all the fight scenes started to look the same. Several people dancing around and attacking in turns.
First four episodes blew me, shame they couldn't follow that.
Still enjoyed it but despite the slow pace I'm enjoying BCS more.

I think there is a different effect binge watching this show than with others for some reason. I've binged the Shield, Walking Dead, BrBa and a couple of others and I think this could be appreciated better when paced and spaced. Actually, I think all shows are probably better appreciated when you have to wait a week for the next ep., but especially this one; maybe because the action is so similar and gets really repetitive when binging?

While the action is nice the acting, relationships, story etc. is what separates this from other cbm IMO. While I enjoy kick ass fights, i find them icing on the cake per say.

I agree with the choreography...he was more acrobatic when he had the black thin-layer outfit. This one definitely made him a little bit stiffer. He fought more like Batman in this one. He even sounded like him at times. I was hoping they'd do more fights where he had the freedom to be very acrobatic and use his parkour style more..they mostly fought in confined spaces.

I didn't think the writing was bad in 13. I thought the Daredevil line was fine. I thought "See ya around" was okay. I was hoping for a more dynamic finale for the two of them in general. I think an extended fight scene where they go back-to-back and kick some ass would have been well appreciated after everything they both been through.

I really was on the fence with Elecktra but I loved the flashback scenes and how they tied it into her confrontation with Stick. I still think Stick steals every scene he's in pretty much but his different relationship with the two of them gave important substance to the situation. I could see where all three of them were coming from. I appreciated Elecktra more after that.

I think the writers did good with Foggy and Karen. We weren't beat down with the failing love story as much as other shows or movies in the genre would do to us. And both characters took a solo step forward to extend their story and the stakes for their characters. I thought it was heads up writing to have Karen be given Ben's old office. Again, they didn't beat us over the head with the idea--it was subtle. Foggy grew as a character, got to respect that. It didn't necessarily end all on a happy note with them.

I'm just kind of annoyed that Punisher never went back for his dog. He seemed like he cared so much. lol

Finally finished S2.

Really, really enjoyed it. Better than S1.

Punisher was great.

Karen was awful and everytime she was on screen crying and sniveling I just wanted to hit fast forward. Wish she would become a heroin addict/porno star already so she can sell DD's identity to Kingpin and then get killed by Bullseye with DD's own club. Nah....they'll never take that route with her. Way to just drop the whole "I murdered a guy in cold blood and it's eating me up inside" angle too.

Elektra also stunk up the joint. Worst of all was her terrible characterization, but the lame acting and stupid costume didn't help. Her whole storyline was ridiculous and convoluted. It made NO sense and they left so many plots holes open.

Punisher was decent. Wish he'd had the costume on for more than one scene.

Kingpin stole the show AGAIN. Would have liked to see him more, but maybe less is better in this case...gives us something to look forward to. Stick was cool in the first season and was totally lame in this season, so better to save Kingpin for later.

Season One was riveting. Season Two was a chore to get through. You can tell the showrunner was different. Quality dropped in a huge way.

Punisher was great.

Awesome man, and I completely agree. Not to say season 1 wasn't amazing as well. I could've sat through this season in a single viewing though.

Finished Season two and what a season. Everything about it was great. Jon Bernthal as the punisher was just awesome. I liked this season a little more than season 1 but not knocking the first season at all.

I finished watching this a few days ago. I thought Punisher was great also. Particularly how he kept pulling the rug out from underneath other characters and the audience.

Spoilers:

Best example is that diner scene with Karen. You thought he was being humanized just a bit, and had some genuine interest in helping the poor gal out. But it was all just a ruse to use her as bait, so he could kill more people. He was appropriately brutal. I thought the first 5 episode or so arc with Punisher would have been a great standalone season in itself, and my fear at that point was that we were going to switch the series totally over to Elektra. Was pleasantly surprised that Punisher remained a major subplot.

I wasn't in love with the actress as Elektra to be honest. She wasn't very compelling to me, and didn't really embody the comic character like I hoped she would. But she was a'aight. I like that Foggy is moving on to join Jessica Jones' law firm. I'm assuming he'll play a role in JJ season 2.

Some moments of the season were amazing, some were pretty lackluster. I thought the ending of the season, in particular, was a bit of a let-down. Though there were so many "major" events happening that maybe that was inevitable. Punisher's farewell appearance with his painted skull suit came out of nowhere, was unnecessary, and distracted from the overall narrative. I get they wanted to show him again, but it wasn't natural. The "death" of Elektra felt kind of weak. I was disappointed it wasn't Bullseye. And after all the angst regarding the sanctity of life, DD attempts to kill Nobu at the end, and as far as he knows at the time, does. I hope they explore that a bit more in season 3, as well as his discussion with Punisher earlier where DD seems to concede that killing is sometimes necessary?

A lot going on in this season, a lot to process. But on balance I would give it a solid A-. Certainly, better than the WB/DC stuff, warts and all, and also better than much of the MCU filmverse.

That's the one thing about Season 2 I didn't enjoy too much and that was Elektra.

I felt we got Foggy in pretty small doses, and he was pretty effective. Particularly when he decided to stop whining and just leave Matt behind. Karen's transition into an investigative reporter also worked for me. But yeah, Elektra was grating somehow. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but I can't help but feel another actress could have made that role a lot more interesting.

I really don't like comparing stuff from cable or Netflix to network tv shows. Network shows have to fill up twice as many episodes in a season and they have more restrictions with censorship and commercial breaks that need to be factored into each episode. I'm grateful there's shows like The Flash I can enjoy for free every week.

I felt the same about the finish to the season, the season started out amazing, but felt like it was rushed at the end. I didn't really care about Elektra or the Hand storyline. I wanted more Punisher, especially in the last episode. I know the Hand and Punisher are separate stories, but I was hoping he would come out with his mini gun and just start mowing down the army of ninjas and save DD and Elektra. It was disappointing he got his hand on all those guns and armor, but just shows up for a minute, snipes 4 ninjas and leaves.

I also liked the investigation of the Castle family murder, the new threat of the "blacksmith", but his reveal was kinda lame. I don't think they gave clues to who he was and he just appeared in one episode prior.. Karen just recognizes one of the guys killed in a photo and that was it. I hope we get more Punisher S3, or give him his own show. Bernthal is my favorite Punisher now.

Finally finished the season the other night. Punisher was incredible. I really would love to see him get his own show. I loved the evolution of both his character and Daredevil.
