Very tempting.... though I never was the biggest fan of Boba so I'm kinda torn...

Hmm. Looks ok but wonder why the price hike? I got Vader from Amiami for $28. Boba is $41, $13 more. That's nearly a 50% price increase.

Just got Mafex Vader and while I'm happy he's finally close enough in height, I didn't like how restricted the neck joint felt.

So what I did was that I cut/scraped down the excess plastic underneath his neck sculpt (I just used a clipper and scissors to do this though an X-Acto knife would be most preferable). Be careful not to cut off the actual neck parts of the helmet as well as the edges that are holding the ball joint intact (basically you're just thinning down the sculpt's surface).

Definitely ended up improving the overall look and movement of the figure, and now he can look farther down than before.

I did the mod and now I have better options when posing him.:D

Got my Vader last night and he does look good with figuarts Maul because of his size.

He looks great there with the SHF Maul! :hi5:

Yeah it's amazing how much difference it makes just by shaving off some of the excess plastic underneath his neck.

^ Agreed. I'm already using the Mafex Vader in place of the Figuarts one.
He fits in pretty well with the rest of Bandai's figures and he looks really nicely with their Luke. :hi5:

Whats a good cape replacement for Mafex Vader? I dont like how thin his cape is.

I wasn't very happy with the cape on my Mafex Darth Vader, so I decided to fix it so it has a more realistic drape to it.

I also converted a Mafex Stormtrooper into a Sandtrooper. I used parts from 3 different Stormtrooper/Sandtrooper figures to create this one. The Mafex, Bandai model kit & black series figures.
