I'm still hoping someone will hand them the figure at SDCC

Definitely not counting on it, but it would be awesome.

One thing is certain to me: They're definitely aware of the issues and just downplaying and ignoring them. I'm not sure what it would do to shove the figure in Ash's face, besides give everyone who dished out $240 for this lemon a smug satisfaction of Ash's public humiliation. But we need to take steps to get 3A to understand us, if possible, instead of just be pissed with us.

Makes sense, but without some embarrassment they won't seem to budge on this. They know they can get away with it and only lose a handful of people which isn't enough for them to really care.

However I wouldn't be surprised if someone did that and caused them to stop showing up at SDCC.

Thanks for the link Barrow Roll.

Ive posted the info to the 3a forum, so lets see if they have any feedback about it. If they do, i'll update it in here.

So here we go. Finally got my little Cortana in the mail and this could have been the only thing to keep me from sending Chief back home to 3A. Not quite sure if this one pose he's capable of doing is worth the price tag. Its just ****ing absurd that he can't even stand after a day on his own. I'm sick of picking his ass off the ground because his ankle joints give out over time.

Wow, what Cortana is that? Looks great. Plus, you got the rail gun to stick to his back?

The rail gun stays fine, and if I'm lucky the AR will cling on just barely. The rail gun actually holds better if I put it straight across the back, level with the ground. Of course that looks like **** though. The lightrifle refuses to be held or magnetized, so its honestly useless in every sense.

The Cortana is from the Halo 4 wave 2 MC figure. It comes with a railgun. I've have more fun playing with that thing that I have with the 3A Chief, and I just got it this morning.

I'm excited for the PAK line after the astoundingly awesome Halo 2: Anniversary figure. The Halo 4 PAK figures didn't floor me, but their latest one sure did, and the Halo 5: Guardians Chief and Locke look amazing! And it's PAK, so the paint being amazing is a given.

I gave up on PAK's line after two crappy Reach figures and a better but still awkward looking Halo 4 figure. But the Halo 2 figure is pretty fantastic. I had no idea they had Halo 5 figures in the works. Going to have to check those out. If they are like the Halo 2 one then my 3A Master Chief refund is going to those.

The statue with Cortana looks laughable to me (not trying to be mean). Cortana definitely isn't a mini-hologram in-game - she's damn near the size of Chief's torso, at least, depending on the shot and angle.

Apparently they're going to be in scale with the H2:A Chief PAK released and so they'll presumably feature similar articulation. All we've got to go by right now is unpainted museum pose molds from SDCC, but that shows enough for me, since my main problems with older PAK figures had to do with the accuracy of character proportions and the sculpt in the H5:G line looks extremely solid and well-proportioned based on what we have seen.

That's why nothing can save this figure. It baffles me that they didn't even bother to include a handheld Cortana in the first place. Although if they did, he miraculously wouldn't be able to hold it.

Then again 3A has never been great with picking accessories.

So in an effort to convince myself to keep this I tried a little mod to get him to hold a gun (how bad does that sound)

Anyway removed one of the gauntlets on the closest side to the body, allowing the arm to rest closer to the chest and just about hold a gun.

After another hour of playing with it, its just highlighted how poor it is. All of these points have been said before but,

The thumb is a massive point of obstruction from the Assault Rifle for example, sitting well in his hand. So it became a massive balancing and luck task of just getting him to hold it.
Adding that to then balancing him to stand unaided for enough time for me to grab my phone, and then balancing the Railgun on the very weak magnets just led to a few :gah: moments.

The fact there is no strength behind the joints at all, it just :slap

I really really wanted to love this figure, the paintwork for 99% is just amazing.

Unfortunately I will be writing my email to 3A later on for a refund, overall very disappointed.

Oh and my Light rifle doesnt work either!

Nice photos, that's a great looking. Too bad for the horrible QC. It sucks how ThreeA blew the biggest release of their Halo line.

Thanks

Yeah literally a moulded set of hands for weapons and tighter joints and I would keep it.

Same here. Even though you can't pose the legs at all, if he could just grip guns in a variety of poses I would have kept it. It's such a low bar but they couldn't do it.

Has anyone shipped it back yet and received a refund?

I'll admit I'm a bit nervous about paying a bunch of money and hoping that this joke of a company is going to honor my reimbursement.

Damn it. He looks so cool but christ he cant hold his gun. Does anyone here know how to make the jints tighteror any rememdies for that? I feel like it'll be a long time before we see another chief and not sure if I want to let this guy go

Not many people have pointed this out but even if you can get him to pose his legs any other way than vertically, they look so ****ing stupid. The armor is constantly bending inward so it looks like his legs are broken. There's just no way to make this thing look good.

Honestly, I don't know what it is with 1/6 figure companies and rubber suits/arms. I mean, one of the main reasons we collect these figures is for the articulation. If I wanted something with no joints and limited or no articulation I would collect statues. It is possible to do joints that look decent without sacrificing much articulation. I really wish these companies would abandon all this rubber suit and limb crap that keeps ruining the figures.

It really is an odd choice, especially given that this is already an armored figure - it would be very easy to hide / obscure joints with his design to begin with. He's pretty much a robot for God's sake, a few visible joints would be fine. How to solve this non-issue? Cover the entire thing in rubber that is undoubtedly harder to mold and paint, completely destroys the articulation of the figure, and will probably deteriorate after a few years. It so flagrantly defies logic that I'm just baffled at this decision.
