Have the blue and grey version. Considering this one, but the face sculpts and crazy long ears are keeping me from pulling the trigger.

For me, I think the problem with sideshow's attempts at batman is not that he looks like an ugly old pissed off human-- it's that he doesn't LOOK like a human.

The proportions and features are weird ... Way too much space between the nose and mouth, not enough chin space for batman...as if they superimposed the mouth in the wrong space....like those gags on late night shows where there's another persons mouth on someone else's face...even the superman looks better and that's pretty exaggerated.

All that said, I believe the faceplates are interchangeable with the blue version, if it is anyone's preference.

It's ok, you don't have to understand. People just like different stuff. I don't think the neutral faceplate is ugly, but I can see why you would not like the constipated faceplate. The angry faceplate is ok to me, but I don't plan on using it either. On the other hand I would not want him to look too smooth and pretty either. How would that be intimidating?

I get that people like different stuff, but it doesn't match any source material for Batman whatsoever. I don't think he should look "pretty" per se, just accurate to the comics. Batman's face doesn't look like a gargoyle.

But every comic character looks different for every artist that draws them. I could see that argument if this was the "Brain Bolland Batman" or "David Mazzuchelli Batman", but to say it's not accurate to "the comics" means nothing since he never looks the same.

I think part of the problem for a lot of people is that Batman is a duality. He is both Batman and millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne. Looking at this headsculpts and what the mouth piece looks like it's just hard to fathom that millionaire playboy running around with supermodels Bruce Wayne is under there. :lol

I see where your coming from. It's Sideshow's version of his black and gray costume, not based on any known artists. Based on the pics of the costume he was wearing in the late 90's, early 2000's. I like it but I can see where other people won't if they wanted a Neal Adams, Frank Miller or Jim Lee version. And I agree that the two angry faceplates are to stylized but the neutral one works for me. Honestly, their Superman is way off to me, he's too skinny and too old and The Flash and Green Lantern were not my cup of tea either. For whatever reason this one interpretation of Batman seems cool. On the other hand I didn't like any of the Gi-Joe versions they came up with.

Cool looking figure. Love the colors, but the long ears look more like horns.

thanks the suit is the old art of toys alex ross batman suit the trunks are from the same set ,the belt is a history of batman hasbro figure and the rest is sideshow ,the body is a knock off true type with thigh extenders and a few bits bulked up with miliput chest shoulders and biceps ,ill be happy to post some pictures in the morning

Why so much hate on long ears? At least they have 3 variations of ear lengths to please every one. I love the long, and medium. Never fan of short eared bats.

The long ears widen as they go up....only the early designs and jl animated had that style...usually the long ears curve inward if at all.....or straight up but rarely outward, plus the face is distracting

^^^^^^
I think that's my issue with both these Bats. I like the first Bats and after these new pics I like this one, but the face sculpts are not to my liking. Some are better than others, but that gargoyle comment I think is right on. Money can get you all kinds of tail, but when you're ugly with money I don't know if I'd call him a playboy.:lol Bats doesn't need to be pretty, but this guy is ringing bell towers.

the gargoyle comment is spot on. i also find it hard to believe that bruce wayne is under that cowl. I do like the look of the figure however, Batman has been portrayed in many different ways by many different artists. This is just another artists, all be it a sculptors take. I see Alex Ross in this one as he reminds me of the old DC direct 13" version only way better.

I think the long eared version in particular looks like he has real presence and will look great on the shelf.

Agree about the face and I did not notice the ears going outward. Thanks for pointing that out.
