You think Marvel will have panels at ComicCon?
This year is D23 Expo in Anaheim, and last time they skipped having panels during SDCC in favor of their expo in August?

They have already announced a Cap 2 panel, and there are Thor 2 banners all over the city. So I'd say yes.

Not saying they won't have a presence, they will have their booth... just wondering if they would do the same thing like last time... The Avengers panel was done @ D23, instead of ComicCon.
But if the Cap 2 has already been confirmed, maybe they realized it was a bad idea and do SDCC instead!

Should someone invite the bunnies to the Freaks party? :lol

Now there's an idea! :clap

Hey guys, going back a couple of days about Hasbro exclusives. Once you get the ticket from Hasbro, is that a guarantee that you'll be able to get a shot at getting something, permitting what they still have left. And where does is line that hands out tickets start?

This is my 4th year in a row going, and I've never dealt with the Gentle Giant booth before. I just know there is always some kind of line and it's general mob of people since they're always displaying something huge anyways. Is it a pretty hellish line? I know I shouldn't expect anything like Hasbro, but other than that I don't know. I'm trying to get through it on preview night.

Also, I was wondering if anybody knows what happens if you're in a line and the exhibit floor is closing down. Does everyone get tossed from the line? I'm sure they don't help everybody before shutting it down.

Personally I don't have much experience on Hasbro exclusives... But here's what I know...I think the ticket guarantees you a spot in the line... Hasbro has 2 booths, one for showing off their new stuff, that's the big booth, and the other one is the Exclusives "shop" it's basically a booth to line up, they have the Exclusives displayed and they hand you
a sheet with all the exclusives and you mark up which ones you need.
On top of the cashiers they have this huge board where they post what's sold out for the day.

It's a nightmare dude, but good luck with it... I usually avoid Hasbro's booth, but this year I wanna get the Black Label Fett...

The GG booth can be pretty hellish, I've only done it once, when they had the Pan's Labyrinth booth, and I was lucky there was not much people in line when I showed up, Thursday afternoon... What are you after? Some exclusives are more popular than others... so if you're after one that's not that hot, wait til there's no lines...

I'm pretty sure most places cut-off lines about an hour before closing time to avoid tossing people out.

Yeah I just want a set of the exclusive Black on Black Magic cards from Hasbro, I may just ask a person in line who doesn't plan on getting it, if they would purchase it for me.

For GG I'm looking at the Yak Face figure, Fett, and C3PO. Dark Horse is selling a little Hellboy thing that has him wearing a sdcc shirt, and they only have 350 of those. I'm thinking I'll hit Dark Horse first and then get in GG line on preview night.

Good point about cutting the line off at a certain time. I've never bothered with waiting in the huge lines, but for some reason this year I have an exclusive 'itch'.

Harrison Ford will return to SDCC for Ender's Game.

Summit Entertainment will showcase the studio's highly anticipated film event ENDER'S GAME at Comic-Con 2013, presenting never-before-seen new footage, appearances by cast members and filmmakers, and several massive, interactive fan events. A full slate of activities related to the film to be unveiled at this year's Comic-Con, including:

Hall H Panel - The studio's panel on Thursday, July 18th will feature ENDER'S GAME filmmakers and cast, including producer Bob Orci, director Gavin Hood, and cast members Harrison Ford, Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld and Abigail Breslin.

Exclusive Fan Experience - Attendees will be able to visit an elaborate, specially constructed ENDER'S GAME exhibit outside of the Hilton Gaslamp, featuring 8 unique rooms representing the most iconic environments of Ender's world, complete with original film props and set pieces used in the movie. Throughout the experience, attendees will be able to see exclusive film footage on LED screens, interact with new digital content, integrate photos of themselves into the highly anticipated Battle Room, and register to win a home make over.

Convention Floor Booth - Summit Entertainment's booth located within the Grand Hall will highlight ENDER'S GAME footage. Premium promotional items will be distributed to the 120,000 attendees walking the convention floor, and booth visitors will be given the opportunity to win "fast passes" to the ENDER'S Game Exclusive Fan Experience, granting them entry without having to wait in line.

Ifyou do that, you better be slick about it. They have security all along the line, and they wont allow anyone to accept money, and will kick out the person that is waiting in line

It doesnt garuntee you an exclusive. I just tells you what time to get in line. Here is my story from last year. I wrote this for all my friends that kept asking me to get a Boba Fett for them

For the people that want the Fett. For the people that want the GIJoe/Transformers crossover. Here is how it goes down. Here is my experience last year. And even with getting stuff, I still had to cheat and cut in line.

Thursday morning, I get to the con at 7. The con doesnt open until 9am, I think. Luckily, I have friends that are autograph hounds, and they get in line at 3-5am. so I cut in line with them, when I get in at 7. People wait outside, and then at 7am, they funnel people upstairs to the open pavillion, so they can make lines and let people in to the downstairs floor. Well, if you want to get Hasbro exclusives, you get into a different line. So, at 7am, I leave my friends, and go get in the hasbro line. Now hasbro does not move until the gone actually opens at 9. So, Im stuck in that line for two hours. And this is what I had to stare at for two hours last year.

179497_10151015479416870_2047597792_n.jpg

so, once 9am hits, the line starts moving. When you get to your turn in line, they stamp the back of your badge, and give you a time card that says something along the lines of " thursday, 4PM" Thats what time you get to stand in line on the sales floor. And they stamp your badge to make sure you try not to get 2 timecards. One time thru is all you get.

so, 4pm hits, and you go to the Hasbro booth, and there are already probably 200 people in line. And once you start asking, you realize those people have time stamps from 230-330pm. So dont plan on moving for awhile. So you start up lined up against the wall, not even near the booth, when room clears in the booth, you have security usher you to the booth. Once at the booth, you get a flier that shows you all the exclusives and all the prices, and the limits. They hand out pens and as you wait in line, you mark how many you want of each item. And now here come the panhandlers.

People that dont want to wait inline, stand on the outside of the rope and try to get you to grab exclusives for them. "Hey if your not getting the GIJoe, can you grab it for me, and Ill give you the cash?" or "how many transformers are you getting? The limit is 4. if youre only getting 2 , can I purchase the other 2 from you?" If security catches you, you are kicked out of line. But that doesnt stop the people that are inline with you from asking you the same questions. now this could be helpful. If someone is only getting the Marvel Legends, and not the Fett, then I can buy extra legends for him, and then he can buy extra FEtts for me, and then we can swap.

But thats not it, you are still running the chance of them running out before you get your time at the table. But once you get up there, they have 6 registers running. You give your order sheet to a girl who hands it to two people behind the register workers. and they pull your order. In the meantime, the register people start ringing up your order.

and here is the best part....alot of people drop probably $400 to $600 at the Hasbro booth. Not to mention all the other exclusives they've bought all over the con. How do you think they pay? Cash? Nope. Debit/credit card. And what do you think happens? Their cards get declined, because of "suspicious activity" of multiple large purchases in one day. So, these people are not going to lose their place in line, so they either attempt to call the bank on the spot (and they are getting lousy reception inside a concrete building), or they try to split up their purchases between cash and a backup card.

So you finally get your stuff. All done. All the pain is over, right? Nope. Now you have to wade thru the panhandlers who are waiting as you exit the booth. you have 2 to 3 large bags, that are getting banged around by thousands of people trying to walk around at the con, and you are trying to figure out how to keep your newly gotten exlcusives "mint" and undented.

Now think of the last three years of hasbro exclusives:
This year, Metroplex
last year, Shield Hellicarrier and Deathstar Star Wars figures set.
Year before, the huge Galactus figure.

how many of those do you think get dented just trying to make it out to your car?

What Im trying to get at, is its not just a simple walk up to the hasbro booth and " 2 Boba Fetts, please"

there is alot of hassle. And when alot of the stuff is not yours, you are even more paranoid of damage.

Im hoping this year, to take my cell phone, and start with my back up against the wall at one end of the con, and try to walk to the other end and see how long it takes me while video taping the whole thing.

Agreed. The Pans Labyrinth bust was the only time I ever had an issue with GG. Most of the time, you can walk right up and purchase any of the exclusives.
