Question: I saw that they are fixed to the base with magnets, which I like a lot. It seems that the few pics we have so far show them arranged exactly like the prototype. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to arrange mine "right".

Is it easy to replicate the "right" layout?

Mine comes Monday.

yup, it's quite easy to base their positioning on the press photos (in my case i based it on the photos printed at the back of the box). what could be the biggest concern is matching the swords to the right ringwraiths.

one ringwraith, the one at the back, to the right, would get the sword with no handle. the wraith in front would get the sword without any spikes, and the 3 remaining swords would go to the rest of the wraiths. these swords are made of metal, maybe bent in the packaging but can easily be straightened, and are formed from the same molding so any of the 3 blades can fit to any of the 3 wraiths. you must be cautious though, as you might need to exert a bit of an effort in putting those pegs into the robe holes. the holes are a bit tight.

Thanks for the details man....that will help a ton!

Easily the best "dio" so far. It has grail potential.

Hmmmm? Still not sure on that given that it only had to feature well sculpted cloaks and minimal armour. The Treachery dio has it's own 'Wow' factor and so does the little loved Dark Counsel dio.

Come to think of it, the dio line isn't really that bad :lol

I'm still considering the Walls of Helms Deep :angelsmil

Can't wait til mine gets here. :chew

Got a waitlist conversion yesterday from April, when I first signed up for it. Had to decide the same day, the email arrived late.

Cancelled. Sniff, sniff.

Hate the recession.

Beren

P.S. Was the exclusive originally 60 pieces only or did I completely make that up? At 400 pieces, even at $400 down the road on eBay, I'd save money on those frickin' import and 'brokerage' charges from FedEx/UPS. So I may get it at a later point. And if I had to decide between this piece and the Weta environments (due to finances), I'd go Weta...

how's the texture of the cloaks? do they look like weaved fabric like the great job done on RWOS? the folds in the cloaks look great though.

I tend to agree with you BF. I won't have mine for a few more days, but from everything I've seen and heard so far this looks to be the best one so far IMO...and there have been some terrific ones.

Metal swords, magnetized base, and most importantly....the image of those wraiths bearing down on Frodo is just so eeire-looking [in a good way] that the movie memories coming flooding back.....truly iconic. :monkey5

I wish I hadn't canceled my exclusive, but I'd be happy with just the Ringwraiths honestly. I've got both verstions on waitlist and will see which of the two converts first.

The arrangement was for photographic purposes but I will display them similarly. The base leaves very little room for placement variation and I think that they kinda look like big candles on a cake. The piece is right now in the middle of my dining room table and since I don’t plan on using it for a Christmas Ringwraith centerpiece, I will be moving it to a display case. :lol
