If, you'll go back in time I contacted you, after the initial run, to get a Caesar statue. You had originally said that once the first set was done you would sell them again at set prices. I believe it was $100 for an unpainted one. You told me you wouldn't be doing them again for a while. A short time later you sent me a link to bid on one on ebay. Bid on one? WTF?

That Caesar statue you’re referring to was actually made for Jessica back in Dec 2008. She was so busy she couldn’t trade me the costume I wanted until a future date because she had so much on her plate. I had a need for some money at the time, and I had this Caesar statue on the shelf already made and I decided to paint it. I sold it on eBay, as I knew I could make her another one for her when she was actually ready for a trade. Ironman, that statue was mine to sell, wasn’t it? Why is this an issue?

You seem to always be showing how much you are offering to all of us, but then you're always crying about not charging us enough.

Crying? I thought I was explaining myself to everyone so they would understand. I’ve honored all of the pricing that I’ve quoted. I know I have a habit of sometimes undercharging people for certain custom work, but I always honor those prices. I didn’t realize it came across as “crying.”

I would like to see you climb down off the that high horse that you must sit upon and stay down here with us little folk.

Okay. Can you get me a stepladder or something?

I don't want to argue or get into a pissing match with you.

Okay. Feel free to stop once you get it all out.

Perhaps you, or maybe we, should try to look at the whole picture and all opinions with a little more objectivity before posting.

Hang on; let me pull all these knives out of my person that you threw at me.

Let’s face it Ironman. You and I will never get along. Sometimes that happens…

To answer you, yes its yours to sell. But when I attempted to buy one shortly before your auction, you had none. If you were truly always trying to do for the folks on the thread why did you send me a link after you put it on ebay rather than letting me know you had one to sell?

It does when you post that - Wow I didn't realize I didn't charge you enough- kind of post during your working on them

I don't think they built one high enough yet.

Ok

No knives, just observations, or are you the only one who can make those?

There's no reason we can't get along. I always thought we had most of the time. I, for one, would like to again. Enemies I don't need. Friends I can always use.

I think you guys should write a letter to the White House...

Maybe Obama will invite you over for a beer!

Bad joke, just trying to lighten the mood...

Better than mine. I was thinking about the escalation of the situation and I was going to yell at them to get a room.

I love the outfit of the custom guy!! Ironman you did real well. Thanks for sharing with us. Is that your own creation of the ape art?

This is what I worked on today, while the guys were having piano lessons. The teacher was nice enough to come over...and he said that he'll come again next week because it's easier for him to swing by than us to go to his house (he has a 4-year old kid that always gets in the way). I know the sculpt has a long way to go. I got some tools today as well, since my original sculpting tools I messed up with Apoxie.

Here he is after some more massaging. Now if only I could get the eyes to look even! He's still a work in progress, but I can't wait to get to his hair, as you can see... He'll be a background ape, and he's just practice until I can perfect my sculpting to get to the point of making a really fantastic Cornelius.

Thanks Jess.
Yes, thats my version of one of the simian wall partitions. I also went on to paint 4 other hasbro apes. we'll see if that can make a difference. The orangutans are still causing me trouble as I can't get a skin tone set for them.
I'd like to find a silver chain mesh looking material and adapt Attar's helmet to something more suitable.
I've repainted the Mugatu, yet again, but still have to find a way to make it work as an actual ape.

If you guys notice, this is my first chimp sculpted without a human head underneath..which is why I'm having a hell of a hard time with the eyes.

The wall partition you made is fabulous!!! Good job on that

This is the status of the Cornelius sculpt. Gotta clean it up some more, but I am happy with how he is turning out. I will see how I feel tomorrow. I need to put him down now and take a break from him.

Was watching some apes last night and was wondering?
Why is Victor Buono - Fat Man, Don Pedro as Negro, but Gregory Sierra gets named Verger?
And, why, when Cornelius and Zira are being asked about the ship and Colonel Taylor, don't they ask about the second ship they sent and Brent?

I don't honestly think all the chronology is that hot in the movies, you just have to let go and enjoy. I watched conquest last night and it is full of bad plot devices, and quite how all those Apes evolved in under 20 years is astounding... but it's still a thought provoking well made movie with its heart in the right place!

Agreed.
I just found it humorous that the two "bigger" stars of the time were generically named and Sierra, with his key, but small role, had a real name.
And did everyone want to forget Brent? :lol

Oh, and Wookster...
Great pix, thanks for sharing!! We'd love to see all that you do!
Did you ever happen to find out about any high-res USCM pix?

Beneath is riddled with huge problems... basically it seems to have been written for Taylor to be the hero role again, but I guess due to other commitments (or being too expensive , which is more likely... it only had a 3 mil budget) Heston couldn't do the whole movie, so they tagged him on at the end. Quite where he got his dog tags and spanking new outfit from are another of those things you just have 'accept'!
I think the dumbest 'coincidence' is the way Nova 'happens' accross Brent... in the first place, still a cool movie but just packed with gaffs!

I tried to get some, but I posted up all that was available. I don't think HT did as many proto pics back then.

I thought that they had wanted Heston back but he didn't want to do a sequel. So, the only way they got him to agree, and be able to use his name in the credits, was to give him a smaller role and then he demanded being killed off.
