The acting was good especially SLJ, Gravik, Mend, Don and the british lady but holy crap does the MCU need to just end.

I haven't watched this and based on what I've read in this thread I don't think I'll bother. Actually I haven't watched anything MCU since a Dr Strange MoM and Thor L&T many months after they came out. It's all very meh now. I'm mildly interested in Deadpool 3 just because Hugh Jackman is in it. At this point I don't know if X-men and Fantastic 4 would reinvigorate interest.

I didn’t watch this and honestly have fallen off really caring about what’s happening in the MCU the last couple years. Most of the stuff I’ve enjoyed like Moon Knight or GOTG3 had very little to do with the rest of the MCU. Anyways, I’ve certainly read a lot of the complaints and spoilers. I just read an interview with the director who confirmed that

Rhodey has been a Skrull since right after Civil War (which makes no sense at all in the context of IW and Endgame)

and that info just retroactively ruins so much for me that, more than ever, I just want to pretend like Endgame was the real end of the MCU. Ugh. Feige slowly going senile is the only explanation I can think of at this point.

He never says that definitively in the interview and it sounds to me like he’s pretty clueless about the MCU as a whole. I would only accept it if it came from Feige’s mouth. The entire interview is as bad as the show itself, a kind of weird alternate reality with very politician like non answers. Helps to explain why the show was rubbish. Excerpt:

Oh my gosh that was laughably painful (which I didn't know was a thing until this show, lol.) My son and I watched the first three episodes and then just skipped the last two weeks and watched the finale because it was all so boring. Then when even the finale opens with two minutes of boring Fury talking to boring wife we just started fast-forwarding even that.

That final battle was just goofy.

So stupid, and just sad at this point. Endgame was the end and they should just pull a "Willow" and purge everything that came after off of Disney Plus.

That spoiler doesn't even make sense within the context of this show. It seems logical that Gravik & his cronies started replacing people after the snap with Fury and others gone and the world in chaos, not way back when CW took place.

But then when they blipped back the skrulls cover would be blown, unless they rounded them all up before people noticed, which is even harder to believe. I like that fact that the real Rhodes doesn't know that Stark is dead. Maybe we'll see all that unfold in Armour Wars.

It was mentioned that the Skrull rebellion didn't start until after Endgame. Gravik was still working for Fury at least until after the battle.

Rhodey was bleeding red and legitimately heartbroken over Tony's death. If they retcon him being a Skrull then it just shows that they want everything to be connected but seem to forget that everything they're trying to connect actually exists.

Sorry I can’t remember what interview it was so I can’t link to it, but they seemed to have a pretty succinct “yup that’s right” answer to a question of whether Rhodey had been one since CW.

BUT. I just saw another interview where they said they don’t know and it’s a question for Kevin Feige. So who the hell knows. Either way it doesn’t really make me want to sit down and watch the show lol.
