That wasn't...awful? Certainly, not great, but I can live with it. Guess we'll see with the rest of the episode.

I'm guessing his suit is entirely cgi. Ever since Endgame they've been really pushing the whole cgi costume thing in the mcu. Yeah it can be done and it looks better than it did years ago, but like most things digital it will never beat practical.

Edit: it appeared to be practical for the most part.

Spoiler Spoiler:

The HulkKing storyline thats about to be presented. Its also a nice unwind after a long day at work. Nothing too serious. If I wanted serious, I wouldn't be watching comic book movies.
Ah yes the story they took 7 episodes just to set up with 2 very short scenes and now have to wrap up in 2 episodes. Very good, high quality stuff…

Well, it was definitely better than expected. Matt himself was handled pretty well. Daredevil escaped mostly unscathed. There was some humor surrounding his character, but nothing too cringe inducing aside from:

BUT overall? Really enjoyed his appearance. I think things could have been way worse and compared to the writing of the previous episodes this was an actual super hero feeling self contained little adventure.

Oh and
Spoiler Spoiler:

Aaand what do you know; they gave Daredevil a hallway scene but stuffed it full of cuts and had him knock everyone down in one or two blows.

I don't mind how he was portrayed personality wise, as he's not sweating over Kingpin right now, but the CG and the choreography are just outright awful.

Not my Daredevil though.

Yes, it seemed obvious they were well aware there would be an uproar if they completely nerfed his character. It bordered on gratuitous with a few of the hallway shots, but nonetheless it was nice to see his brutal side remained intact, even if the editing made it a bit more kid friendly. I also liked seeing his Spider-Man-like agility on full display, even if the CGI was less than perfect. Compared to the comics I read growing up I found his Netflix version a little TOO grounded at times; I thought they did a pretty good job here of injecting some more "super" into his superhero character.

I didn't mind how grounded he was in Netflix, I actually prefered it. We need more street level heroes and content in the MCU. He shouldn't be on par with Spider-Man, he should be peak human but not super human.

Agreed. I really liked seeing DD's agility realized in a live-action scene.

I didn't mind his Netflix version, I'm just saying he was never on par with his portrayal in the comics. And I agree he shouldn't be on par with Spidey, but IMO his abilities also put him above peak human. I don't want to argue semantics, but I think you'll agree there are different levels of super humans/heroes. If Tony Stark/Iron Man gets in the club, Daredevil's a slam dunk.

While we all knew that Daredevil is way more limber than the Netflix series made him out to be, but I found that series refreshing for seeing some MCU action that at least tried to be semi-grounded in reality. He might be up against a Hulk, but I have to admit that it takes me out of things a little bit when Charlie all of a sudden goes Blade II CGI through a parking structure.

You nailed my thoughts exactly. Its a lighter-hearted show compared to the Netflix series so thats what we see. Netflix DD was missing the comic-book agility. It felt like he was held down my rocks.

His senses are superhuman, but his body isn't. He shouldn't ko'ing enemies in 1 punch, that's what I hate about this version the most, even The Batman got this right to an extent.

You have way more wiggle room for exaggeration with movements etc. on a page or in animation, look at some of the stuff that non Jedi characters do in Clone Wars or Rebels; it works because it's animated and the laws of physics aren't as strict within that medium. I just don't think it works for live action and tbh I don't really care about comics.

I just don't see myself ever enjoying this interpritation of Daredevil.

We get it man, you decided you weren't going to like this show before it aired, and you don't want to change your mindset... regardless of the content of each new episode.

We like this show, it's a decent and light-hearted show, and it's pretty much a perfect adaptation of She-Hulk. No amount of constant nay-saying (quite baseless nay-saying if I may say) is going to change that for us.

Keep making assumptions all you want, but I go into most shows and movies with an open mind :lol. The content in each new episode is mostly the same with this show, it just keep treading the same ground and we only have 1 episode left to wrap up the entire main plot that they've barely even touched upon.

I haven't liked any of these MCU D+ shows really, I liked Moon Knight at first but that was just recency bias compared to all the other shows. I'm just not as invested in Marvel anymore, after Endgame they've just lost it and taken things in a direction I'm not a fan of.

Thank you for saying this. I dont understand why people go into show's threads theyre not fond of just to spew negativity around it.
Im not a fan of some of the shows/movies released recently but I dont go around in the forums feeling high and mighty and talk down on it.
I got better things to do with my time than lurk and attack.

People like watching She-Hulk, great! People may also not like She-Hulk, great!

Move the F on.

Because it's a forum for discussion, which involves multiple points of views. I have thoughts on the show and will share them freely. I don't feel "high and mighty" I just think this show is doing a terrible job at almost everything it's trying to do.

If you don't like what's being discussed then you can also move on :dunno. Feel free to hit this button if it bothers you so much.
