Man that's embarrassing. That's all anyone is going to be thinking about at the show now. And it's probably gonna dominate all newspaper coverage.

It had to take something crazy and not related to Dune to get me back into this thread lol

This night will be remembered not for Dune but for Will Smith and…

Someone said they should have played a clip from Independence Day announcing the 26 year anniversary of the film where aliens were defeated by a man incapable of knocking an unsuspecting 130 pound comedian off his feet, lol.

Holy crap had he knocked him out he would’ve went out in cuffs and a brawl would’ve probably broken out would’ve been awesome lol

Check out the Japanese feed of the broadcast uncut -- Will Smith screaming at Chris like a maniac.

And the man -- I mean, thug -- had a chance to apologize live and only half-assed it. He could have apologized to everyone and Chris and made his comment about wanting to represent love and move into the speech about his movie and it would have been a good move for him. But no. Not even man enough to do that.

Ah, the regret he'll be carrying for a very long time...

His apology was basically "the devil made me do it."

Now since it was the Oscars it would have been funny if the sound engineers had the wherewithal to add the audio of an Indiana Jones punch and then a Wilhelm scream, lol.

I think we all have witnessed the next great meme of the 20's.

And many sounds will be added to that moment...

Whether or not the joke was appropriate Rock comes across as a class act in the uncensored audio IMO:

I get wanting to defend your wife's honor but the dude had both hands behind his back for freak's sake.

And Will's screaming afterward. Will Smith showed us who he truly is tonight.
A part of me wants to make excuses for him. Is he cracking from stress, concern for his wife's condition etc. ... but thinking about it ... he's supposed to be a goddamned adult. And a role model. He did that in front of millions of people. Does he feel ... immune? Has wealth insulated him so much?

Yeah, leaves a bad aftertaste. He's also bigger than Rock which doesn't sit well.
