The bands were only lit up in that shot because they had just jumped back in time. Most of the time while flying they were unlit.

Although I can still see it being a nice option to have I guess.
It's part of the DeLorean going through time sequence. Everytime it goes up to 88 the bands light up. This is in every movie.

This is great but I had the pt.1 and returned it due to a few defects. I wasn’t really impressed with it. It felt a bit cheap for a premium product.

You could probably do that yourself in an afternoon with some string, glue and some coloured paper lol.

Wow! This just might be my first 1/6 vehicle! Only ever wanted a BTTF Time Machine and 89 Batmobile, but part 2 can work just fine!

I kinda wish they had gone with the black cooling vents on this one instead of the original steel colored ones. I know it only appeared that way in a handful of scenes, like in the beginning when they land in the rain, but I've always thought it was the slightly cooler look.

Also hope we can see some video soon of the green sequential lights working underneath. Really curious how accurate they were able to get that.

Great news! Who wouldn't want a time machine? I mean, when you're a BTTF fan? I still love to watch those movies.
Like everybody else, I'm on the lookout for a good price on this. Yet every time I look around, I'm surprised to see that the HK prices just double when you order from a European dealer. So far, I haven't found anything below $1250... .

I made this for fun, and to have a visual what kind of a rollercoaster this line has been. It was almost exactly a year between each of the first three entries in this series ... then nothing for years, then they dropped everything else in 6 months.

I really want to like this model but the fact they’ve had so much time to correct some of the major issues with the PT1 version & didn’t bother, yet have the cojones to call it ‘movie accurate’ really irks me - just from a point of laziness & knowing that most of us BTTF fans will still preorder it.

I don’t expect them to necessarily make changes to the body shell mould, as that would be a huge expense, even though the shape of the rear wheel arch is horrible & a lot of the edges are way too sharp when compared with the original vehicle.

However, things like the horrible dark tint on the rear light clusters for one, making it look all one colour when the lights are off.
The colour of the cabling to the flux-bands as someone has already mentioned.
Shape of the door headliners, dashboard in general, concentric groove in the wheels, harsh very cold-coloured LEDs for the headlights.
Then adding in the totally wrong angle of the wheels, it seems like they’re piling errors on top of errors.

They’ve got a chance to make this an incredible model with a few minor tweaks, but we all know on prior experience they’re not going to do so - just feels a shame.

Eh, I’m definitely getting it even if it looks like it does in these photos, but I was watching Danoby’s stream this morning and I think he’s right—Hot Toys clearly got wind that Jazz Inc was negotiating to get the license (Joost said he had been negotiating with Universal up until like 3 weeks ago and they just suddenly stopped responding) and they quickly dug out their old prototype from 2016 and snapped some product pics and announced it. So there is definitely the possibility they might update some stuff here before release since there are more than a few clues that this was a bit of a last second decision from them. I choose to be optimistic!

I'm guessing that move took Universal completely by surprise as well. They were probably led to believe that HT had no interest and the coast was clear for another company to produce one.

ToysWonderland updated their product page. US shipping cost is "only" $210, so that's a lot better than the $400 some were speculating.

If Jazzinc was able to get license the for it, we know it'll cost more but it will be more accurate than this. It can probably fit Doc as well. I do wonder if Jazzinc decided to gamble and pursued a license from Universal, how aggressive will Hot Toys be with their version. People know the quality Jazzinc can deliver so I'm sure there won't be issues of meeting the number of orders they need to turn a profit.
