Figure(s) of the year!!
Cannot wait to get this set in!!
Tempted to order direct next week.

God..imagine if in Mando S3 we go to Mandalore...and they reveal NEW Mando characters!!
HT be all over that!!!
I think they are going to mandalore. If that happens, we may never see another figure that isn’t armored.

Books and Comics are for wider audience don't really matter. I enjoy reading the material that I have, but I understand Disney will use or discard what they want. No biggie to me.

TBoB so far is pretty solid, and after watching the great episode 2, looking forward to this set.

But they don't matter, this was already proven with The Bad Batch when they changed things that were already established in a "canon" comic.

In the Kanan comic Commander Grey is in armour with red markings. In TBB he has green markings and regular clone armour, not Commander armour.
In the Kanan comic Commander Grey recieves Order 66 at night time around a campfire with Depa Billaba and Kana. In TBB it's during the day in the immediate aftermath of a skirmish with Separatist forces.

Anything in a comic is subject to change/retcon, if it's not on screen then take it with a pinch of salt.
That’s fair I suppose. It leads us back to the frivolity of the term “canon” which I’m totally ok with.

Fair point. I discard what I want and sleep just fine at night! 😂

Mandalore in S3 is a no brainer imo. That's what the whole conflict of the darksaber and Din's Deathwatch cult "family" and BoKatan's group etc centres around. Plus what Faverau and Filoni have dealt with for years (within Clone Wars).

So yep expect to see a lot more Mandos !

Fair. But it seems incongruent to allegedly not have interest in the lore (good/bad, though extensive) but a willingness to buy a $550 collectible of the character.
I mean no more than collectibles for other fairly inconsequential characters. Boba is getting more lore added as things progress, and his appearances starting with The Mandalorian are making him a more interesting character.

I have read some comics and paged through books about Boba Fett (actually just bought one of the EU novels about him last summer or so).

Respectfully, that’s really not true at all.

I don’t think there’s a single person on this thread/in the community that only knows about pre-Disney Boba Fett based on his appearance in the OT. The truth is that there are numerous books and comics written about him/with him that elaborated on the character greatly, all the way from the Holiday Special up through 2013 pre-acquisition.

By your logic, and only counting movie screen time, most of the characters really never go beyond wooden, 1-dimensional tropes. Again, I find it hard to believe that there’s really anyone on this thread that legitimately holds to the belief that Boba has just been this brief cameo background character until Mando/BoBF. It isn’t an issue of head canon, there was a plethora of EU and Disney canon that fleshed this character out before the series.

I don't count the books as canon or the games, I only count films as canon, so to me he's barely even character. And also his facade isn't really ruined by this series because there wasn't much to him as previously stated.

Then again, I don't really consider Darth Vader from the OT to be menacing at all, he was a little bish to Moff Tarkin and didn't have much imposing scenes. Even as a kid I didn't find him scary. It wasn't until Rogue One that showed his true power and nature, but even then I feel that's only so in retrospect to the myriad of portrayals outside the films has portrayed him as. By film alone it didn't really do well to distinguish what most people now regard him as.

Back to Boba, my brother has loved him since we were kids. I never got it, because he's such a tertiary character it's unreal. But I do understand why people might not like the series based on this, and regardless of external characterizations. As even in the film Vader has to remind him not to disintegrate, and he never takes his helmet off etc. and he is is now touting respect and taking his helmet off a lot.

To be honest Mandalorian serves as the better representation of Boba.

Anyone else wish HT sell this Black Robe Boba on it own
I don’t want to buy two pack. (Probably gonna end up getting it)

This is definitely one of the best figures Hot Toys has released and could keep company with Yondu, Battle Damaged Robocop and the Heath Ledger Joker.
I preordered it this weekend. Not gonna take any chances of this going to waitlist.

This turned out pretty great! It will be the only Fett i'll be getting to represent his Mando universe persona...
Wish he would have done some different poses in the wide shot at the end instead of him just talking for minutes on end.

Fair enough, much like I don’t consider the new trilogy as anything either.

Wonder if they’ll soon offer a stand alone tusken Boba. He’s gonna be one sought after figure with BOBF airing. Honestly can’t see them not doing it.

I can easily seeing it not happening, HT wants you to buy the two pack and that headsculpt is the inducement. It works out to $250ish per figure, which these days is a steal.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they announce a BOBF Tusken Boba a few months after the show ends. Slightly different accessories, slightly different garb and, for many, the more desirable straight on look of the eyes as opposed to the side glance.

I put the first two episodes of TBOBF above the first two of The Mandolorian however the weakest part of the show is TM in his clean BF armour.
Really, I found the first two episodes of the Mando to be more interesting. Especially with the introduction of Din, Kuiil, the Client, IG-11, Greef Karga, the Armorer for example. The story line in such a short period was more interesting. Visuals/effects I would give to the Mando. I think (for me) it is just the fact that these were all new characters (Mando) and there was so many questions, where as BOBF, some of the questions we could have already have answered.

I did like the second episode of BOBF more than the first, but I will watch the whole season before casting final judgement of course.

I’m probably in the minority but I don’t like having too many figure of the same character Currently got ROTJ Boba HT and got a Repaint Deluxe on ordered. So if I pick this two pack up it be five figures of Boba (including the custom I made)
