This is a great upgrade. It reminds me a bit of the pack on the Jedha Patrol trooper. I have been on the fence with this figure and these pictures are making me lean in the direction of picking one up.
Thanks for posting.
Thanks! That definitely was an influence, and RO in general has a lot inspired designs. I love all the variant troopers and unconventional rebels that came out of it.

My Mando Shoretrooper just arrived. Took a quick peak at it and it looks great.

I think that I won't be pairing it with the Shoretrooper Squad Leader but will keep each with their assigned film/show. Will figure it all out when ready to put them on display.

Bought one of those backpacks on eBay for the ShoreTrooper. Endo1s pictures are so amazing. I think why that backpack, Vietnam/WWII loom works is because Rogue Ones style feels much more real-world/grounded. Rogue One has a certain gritty, “war” feel to it and that extends to all the new trooper designs.
This image here just blows my mind what you can do with the figure:

Congrat's on these, and I know you'll really enjoy getting them setup and in the display!

They really stand out against the monochromality of the Imperial War Machine.

That's cool, I hope you have fun kitting up your trooper. I agree with you totally on RO, such a great series of designs. I hope we see HT reissue the RO TK's in the form of refreshed ones from the future SW tv series.

I plan on working with the pack to add some more SW esque details and weathering. For now I'm looking to ditch the shovel kit and save it for another project. Also, doing some detail work on the mess kit with paint and weathering. But, I think the pack is a nice starting point.

I look forward to seeing what you guys do with it too!
☕😉

I finally got a Shoretrooper in my hands for the first time today and I'll just throw out the disclaimer that overall I am happy with the figure but also that I have never been the biggest fan of this trooper design but it has grown on me over the years.

But I do have a few gripes. The thing that immediately jumps out at me is that it's probably the most barebones HT figure I have ever opened. Literally 4 hands, a base, and a gun. Speaking of the base, if there were ever a figure that called for a sand base it's this so of course HT does the logical thing and includes the Death Star floor. Even the instructions are a pitiful one sided rectangle of paper. I also wish the hip armor were contoured plastic pieces that hang from the belt instead of the glued on rubbery material. And I'm not a fan of how the printed on weathering has that fake look like someone drew some of it on with a pencil(reminds me of Cody). All that being said I'm still happy to have my trio on order but I won't be getting any more than that.

I enjoyed reading that because it was kind of like:

I’m happy with this figure.

**** you, Hot Toys.

**** this figure.

But I’m happy.

Sincerely,
TFH

I get it though. I’ve had the same experience. It’s great but it’s not perfect but it’s still great.

Pretty well sums it up. Most HT figures are pretty damn great overall but that doesn't stop me from looking for stuff to complain about. Honestly after marveling over the stuff I like about a figure for about 3 minutes I probably spend the next 5 minutes searching for shortcomings that annoy me :lol

I sometimes even think about switching to statues or other collectibles but am quickly reminded that 1/6 is easily the best scale to collect Star Wars if you want anything close to a complete lineup of characters that look great.

Yeah I hear you on that. I try not to nitpick these days but sometimes it’s hard when the lapses in logic or common sense are in your face. Especially when you know it’s for cost cutting.

This figure should’ve at least come with the drink tray and flatware. Would’ve been hilarious and some people might get one extra just to display it holding it.

I’ve had a bunch of Star Wars statues and absolutely agree, nothing Beats 1/6 when it comes to having lineups or groups of characters together. Especially when they can be posed and set up just the way you want.

Statues can be amazing but I didn’t want a collection of them anymore. Too limiting. Almost a little too impersonal since all you do is unbox it and put it on a shelf.
