A lot of the stuff that figures come with often stays in the box (R2's arms for most people, even stuff like the cargo boxes Yoda came with) but pretty much all the stuff Doc comes with I would probably display.

Setting aside the dream of new Doc sculpt, I wonder if this sculpt will get some kind of tweak. Luke Endor head had the whole lower half of of the standard Luke sculpt revised and the smirky Han was the same level of reboot of the existing Han sculpt.

Hopefully the same could happen with Doc - some wrinkles added below the chin etc. This hasn't officially gone up for PO yet, so hopefully there might be a tweak.

Maybe a different paint job can make him look older. Even the hair color looks wrong. His hair looks white not grey in that middle photo.

I don’t see the complaint about the age in the sculpt. The 2015 look was basically how he looked in 1985.

I always thought the joke in that scene where Doc removes his facial prosthetic is that he doesn’t look that different.

It would be one thing if the sculpt looked more like he did in 1955. Those scenes he actually did look a little different.

You must be still watching the DVD. Switch to Blu Ray or 4K UHD and you'll see he was younger after the prosthetic.

Yeah as Clown Prince mentioned, modern paint apps should help a bit. But it is true they normally nail older men probably due to the facial wrinkles etc.

Going by your pics he sculpt is very featureless, and could easily be improved.

But who are we kidding ?? it's Hot Toys.

I'd imagine these older sculpts were also done by manual hand sculpt, so tweaking is essentially a re-sculpt. Kind of sucks !

Wish we could merge the DeLorean/Marty thread with this one.

Just looking back it seems 18.9.2021 is the date where we might see some action.

It's true that HT has done its best work with older characters (Tarkin, ST Han Solo, Dooku, ST Leia etc) so they would have done great with an old Doc sculpt. Would have been great to see that.

I have to believe that they were just in a rush to take a picture so they used to BTTF II headsculpt with the new body because the actual headsculpt for the figure is still being developed.
I know Hot Toys can be lazy, but this would be ridiculous when it’s clearly a younger version of an older character.
Xipotec’s post about putting a Revenge of the Sith Obi Wan headsculpt on a ANH body is right on.
They cannot really be that bad can they?

That's super optimistic, but I really hope you're right !!

I guess it could be argued that they appear to have a new sculpt for Marty, so why not Doc ?

So long as it's clearly better and not worse than what has been shown up to now (ala Tony Stank), then I've got my fingers crossed !!

Not that I can’t see a difference. I just don’t find it super drastic. Admittedly looking at it again I can tell more of a difference though.

I'll add my name to the column that believes the current Doc head is temporary. If BTTF is generating enough interest to bother making more sets, then its likely going to get a new or modified sculpt.

They changed Marty and that one they could have gotten away with since its nearly a reissue.

I don;t really care for the 'gaw' mouth-open sculpt. I'd prefer something more intense with his eyes bugged out, waiting for his car to... go back in ti-eeee-ime.
Yep I agree. Even though it fits him as a character, it's pretty extreme.

I'm sure if they did a more museum expression there would be as many people saying it's boring. But at least it fits the sequence in the movie they are going for here.

Yeah I always thought that HT's Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth and their Stan Lee sculpts were some of their best work.

I like the original expression for HT Doc but I wouldn't mind a more neutral look this time around. Obviously the most important thing is they make a new sculpt that looks like BTTF 1 Doc. HT have used placeholders before so it's possible we get something new but I'm really afraid they will slack off here because they just don't much care about the license.

Same. Doc head is just a placeholder, I'd add my wager.
Agree as well it to be a placeholder. All that effort on the accessories and no new sculpt???

Agree. It’s interesting that Doc Brown’s sculptor, Woo-Chul Ji also did the first two Stan Lee sculpts, which are much better. Have to think there was other input that helped spoil Doc. Fingers crossed it will be a new sculpt.
