:lol

I have no doubt Howard took that as a massive disrespect to his product and refuses to make a Ford figure again.
Yep. Howard must have been pissed. Also, Ford does seem like a giant prick, at least in terms of Star Wars.
Thats some beyond massive disrespect right there.

No it's not
I doubt anyone (who isn't an over sensitive fan without a sense of hummer) took it personal, it was obviously a gag.
If anything anyone at HT were likely excited to see the figure show UP on Late Night, even to be cantankerously destroyed by Ford.

Ford has been playing the grouchy I want out of Star Wars guy for decades, Carrie Fisher used to joke about being haunted by the character and merchandise too, she made a whole beloved routine about it. The whole shtick about actors surviving beyond a beloved character and their own merchandise and likeness, that seems to become greater than anything they'll ever do or say, overshadowing and intruding on everything they do. They both play that part to a hysterical degree.
Yet in any serious context they always praised Lucas' characters and vision.
This is comedy. :lol

I am not "an overly sensitive fan without a sense of humor," i just expect adult behavior from persons representing a franchise - and he does represent it, whether or not he likes it. But this horse fled the barn ages ago. We shall see how many Indy figures show up.

Teased it and never did anything with it. Why would they even tease it if it was a Ford issue?

Han probably doesn’t sell.

I really hope you are joking because if not you have really gone off the deep end.

The Han and Chewie two pack was the first ever HT "reissue" if I remember correctly because there was such high demand. Even after said reissue, it continues to sell for an extremely high price to this day. This is either a Ford issue, or Howard is holding a grudge.

That ANH Han was my first Hot Toys figure, and I’ve seen a few other people amongst different groups say the same.

Makes sense, I think the Han and Chewie was the first HT SW release after they officially got the SW license. The DX Luke was their first SW figure, but they didn't officially share the license with Sideshow yet.

LOL^!
The joke is he's not going to handle being overshadowed by the character (and doll) like an adult.
You don't see that? :ROFLMAO:

Oh please, he represents/knows the character more than you ever will, he pretty much is the character.

And LOL those blaming Ford for the character's lame use and death.
The problem with that^ wasn't Ford wanting the character to die, he knew (yes "ages ago") that unless they came up with an arc more transformative and interesting, the character type's arc was done.
Going forward his biggest impact would be in how his great sacrifice and death would affect those who survived him- Luke, Leia & Chewie, et al. And he was 100% right.
The act of him dying wasn't a problem (see Obi-Wan and Yoda's deaths, meaningful because of their strength and impact on those who survived them.)
If that moment for Han was skipped and his role and death came off pathetic, shallow, empty, and meaningless, with no impact, blame the idiots who created these. failed moments ...

And Luke not even being around (to the contrary hopelessly hiding from his friends moping in fear), everything contrary to who these characters are. :lol

Ford did want Han to die. He thought he should’ve died after ESB. He came back for TFA with the understanding that Lawrence Kasdan and co. would kill him. And the truckload of Disney Dollars.

But yes, you are correct and I agree that death can be meaningful but his death was wasted in the grand scheme of a story that was wasted, full of wasted potential and wasted characters and wasted legacies.

Phew.

His death ultimately became a footnote in a story that just fizzled out. But that’s not on him. That’s just bad writing, and a lot of it.

I going to do to his Ancient Indy figure what he did to that Han figure.

While I wouldn't mind another figure of Han, I really hope HT jumps back in the CW. I get that Mando is hot right now, but with season 3 a ways off, I feel this is the perfect time to jump back into CW, especially being that a lot of them would be simple repaints and minor retools here and there. Of course, I'm just being selfish because I want Fives, Echo and mostly Wolffe.

wouldn’t shock me if we get more Clone announcements soon since they’re definitely ‘hot’ now and if I had to guess 501st exceeded expectations

There are PT figures that sell for more than ANH Han. Yet y’all tell me the PT doesn’t sell, has no demand, etc...

If some of y’all here think the PT doesn’t sell... Han doesn’t sell. No proof required from me. I can idiotically repeat it the same way.

"No one's ever really gone."

(No matter how hard they try to get their character killed off!)

I have to think Fisher would've absolutely gotten a kick out of her real life death forcing Ford to play Han once again.

I honestly believe that TCW figures so far were just because of Season 7 came out. None of them would've been made had Disney not made that season.

Some PT weren't preordered in high amounts and therefore had less made of them. Nobody is saying the PT doesn't sell, it obviously does. Anything SW is hot right now. How many PT figures sell for higher prices now anyway? DX Maul and Anakin?

Pretty sure during the Mando S3 hiatus, they will be "jumping" into to The Book of Fett releases.

Well no **** :lol All the releases thus far are based on Season 7. Ahsoka? S7. Maul? S7. 332nd? S7. Rex? S7. Shock Troopers? S7. 501st? S7. Anakin? Pretty much a mix. The only one not based on S7 is Kenobi, which has yet to be put up for PO. Realistically the only non-S7 TCW figures I can see in the future would be Cad Bane (due to Bad Batch appearance), Asajj Ventress, Plo Koon, various clones.

As far as PT figures selling for higher prices, they all do. These are all doubled right now... Maul, Dark Side Anakin, Anakin, Kenobi... Cody, Dooku, Yoda are all around 370-400 right now. Only “cheap” one is Qui-Gon who is over 300.
