All this first and second batch bull**** is beyond ridiculous now. To the point that it has become a damn business model for sellers in HK. It wasn't very long ago that you had two choices, you could A) pay some extra money to a HK seller on release day or B) wait about 4 to 6 weeks for the ENTIRE shipment to arrive in the US.
I wish it was just 5-6 weeks still. It’s getting to be 3-5 months.

I’m not sure I follow. What’s the problem now?

Why make her a Toyfair exclusive..it’s going to be hard to get her :slap Hopefully they make her a general release in the future

I spoke to Pop Collectibles earlier and asked them specifically about the later batch waiting time. They told me it'll still fall into quarter 3.

I honestly don’t understand why a ‘first batch’ is desirable. The second batch is always better and often has fixes that plagued the first batch. I’d much rather wait a few more months for a superior product.

I get it from their perspective though. They’re providing a service that some consider a convenience. There‘s enough of a base that will pay the extra cost to get items early, but they still have the option to get an item for a lower price and you’ll probably still get it sooner than Sideshow.

It’s the mentality of being the first to have the shiny new toy. That or reviewers.

Jeez around $350 for the first batch at Toyswonderland ..no thanks

too steep for a non deluxe :horror

I did the second batch order at TW too. Comes out to not much more than what SS would charge and I’ll have it a couple months or more earlier. 1st batch is too steep for me as well.

The problem is that HT are now produced and arrive to the US in about 15 different batches. There used to be one batch. You could either pay some extra money to have it flown over from HK or you could wait 4-6 weeks for the slow boat to arrive.

Do

Does Toyswonderland charge preorders in advance or do they wait until it gets in stock to charge

It is what it is. People in HK gets paid to line up to get these 1st batch and con exclusives.

I used to get my figures from HK before Sideshow ships and I get them cheaper than SS. It is no longer the case.

First batch is sold at Secret Base only. 2nd batch is for all the other retailers including those in Hong Kong.

For sites like Toyswonderland to get first batch they literally have to send people to stand in line for hours and get the figures from Secret Base. It would be a bit silly to expect them to provide that service for nothing.

I never bother with first batch unless the difference in cost is small. Moff Gideon and classic suit Spider-Man had low first batch prices for some reason.

It's mostly for local buyers or YT reviewers that need the figures early for views.

Try buying from Europe, never mind the slow boat it's more like waiting for the punctured inflatable rubber dinghy to arrive.

I think that has to do with the sheer volume that some of these very popular figures are now selling in. There are more collectors now but Hot Toys can still only produce X number of figures per month in their factories. The less popular figures (Quantum Suit Tony, Batman Beyond, Hellboy, etc) seem to still be arriving In the expected amount of time.

I would not expect Armorer here to take half a year to arrive like Beskar Mando did, because a lot of those first-time buyers of Beskar Mando aren’t going to go that deep on the line.

Do you mean Toys Wonderland or Toys Buying Agent? I was looking for a Toys Wonderland coupon, but I couldn’t find one. Thinking of ordering from there (it would be my first order with them).
ToysWonderland. I had points to use from previous purchases.
