Yeah but Tox Anxiety wants like $15-20 shipping to me, they don't have what I'm looking for right now though.

Ahh you’re in the UK, sorry I missed that.

I do know there is a FB buy, sell, trade parts page called “(1:6)neSixth: Parts & Accessories UK” which is supposedly a good group of people and also a private group. Being in the US, I’ve not used it but I very much trust the person’s recommendation so maybe that is an avenue to explore.

Thanks for the tip.

Very cool looking indeed! Awhile back, I bought an extra DX16/17 hilt for a kitbash that I never ended up making. It came with both (halves), the end cap and even the 2 little belt hook plugs. If you have any interest, Hit me up since I?ve given up on my kitbash idea.

I'm thinking about making a cathode saber for Maul, so yeah...I'm interested.

While awaiting the latest HT Maul release of the "Solo" version of Maul, seeing the recent video unboxings gave us a really close look of the outfit and appearance changes he goes though to get to that point of being the crime boss of Crimson Dawn. It got me fondly remembering the classic Dark Horse comics drawn up by Jan Duursema of Maul and how he leapt off of those pages. I can't wait to get that new DX Maul to snap some shots of, but in the meantime, here's fresh look at the DX17 drenched in intense comic-inspired colors...

I would love to see Duursema produce some new art based on the "Solo" look of the character. She had him flatten Black Sun...it would be cool to see her illustrate his rise as the leader of Crimson Dawn...

Just an old fan's musings...

Quick posing session with the DX16--and I did a head swap with the Solo Maul I got last night. This is a far superior sculpt to Ray Park, and the red is brighter by quite a bit. This is one case where the open mouth on Maul (vs Jedi Luke) is a real advantage!

The Solo portrait looks really nice with the TPM figure, and on the shelf, you'd hardly notice the subtle differences about the face details and since the TPM has generic horns anyway, that's one area that really doesn't matter.

@MaulFan --yeah it really does look nice. I just took some comparison shots of both heads. Not to slam the previous sculptors for the DX16/17 but it just feels like there was more time put into the Solo sculpt...the scarring, the specular paint used for the skin, the overall colors. The red on the Solo version immediately pops and makes the original DX head feel a little unfinished/incomplete. take a look:

I prefer the colour on the newer version but even though it?s a great sculpt, still prefer the sculpt on the TPM version for that particular film.

IMO the DX 16/17 sculpts look fantastic for The Phantom Menace era Maul. The Solo version looks more idealized, and does not feel appropriate for an Episode 1 representation of the character.
