Same here, but I'm concerned that it may never happen if there isn't enough support for this one.If it was the refit Enterprise, I'd be all in.
Same, I have doubts it will look that good anywayI was all in until… “Shipping within the contiguous U.S. only.”
If it turns out like the proto, 600 is a steal IMOIt's cetainly a beggars cant be choosers situation. It may not be perfectly awesome - but there is nothing else out there like it.View attachment 582670
“This model represents the culmination of my 30+ years of research and data related to the studio model,” said Kerr. “The saucer separation capability, designed with input from well-known starship designers, sets this model apart from all previous efforts. The level of detail, saucer separation, working lights, and overall die-cast metal construction demonstrate extraordinary attention to detail.”
You pretty much nailed it - the latest offering from QMx was the NX-01 and they’re asking $3,995 so this is a steal for sure.this is ****** sweet, I'll be crushed if it doesn't pass
Spinning nacelle caps, saucer separation (referenced but never seen during TOS!), lit/articulated shuttlebay, fully lit w/ blinky lights, detailed paint from the original 11 foot model, 20lbs of diecast, the works.
Gary Kerr, who consulted on the restoration of the original model at the Smithsonian, worked with Tomy on this and had this to say:
It's a nice chunk of change, but for what it is, and compared to the prices of similar offerings over the years, that's a downright steal (especially with shipping already included). This kind of finished model is typically priced in the thousands, not the hundreds.
When QMX released their Refit around the same size as this it went for $5000. Chronicle Collectibles was taking orders for a 1701-D 8 inches smaller than this for $2000. HeroCollector's diecast Enterprise kit (also several inches shorter than this), which you have to put together yourself out of 120 boxes, is $1550. This 20 pound finished & lit model is somehow only $100 more shipped than the Playmobil toy.
If these make it to production they're going to end up going for thousands on the secondary market eventually. The problem is just making it to Tomy's required minimum order QTY, which is surprisingly high for a product they are confusingly limiting to US shipping only. I assume the high qty is how they got the price down. They'd have a lot more bites if they opened this up internationally. Although some international folks are ordering anyway with plans to figure out forwarding later.

For sure, $2.4M needed in 11 days, I don’t see the stars aligning. They would’ve had a better shot with an international market. At this point it’ll take a miracle to pass.
One went for £900 on SundayI'll be placing an order, and fingers crossed they reach the minimum backers required. Out of curiosity, I checked ebays recently sold listings for the Master Replicas Enterprise. They were all signature edition, but $2,499.00 appears to be the going price.
Looks like they did. It was originally set for July 11th.Number of backers jumped, and they may have increased the time limit. It's looking a bit more realistic
