Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I'd really prefer if 3D only becomes an option for movies not something standard. Its a neat thing once in a while just not something I want with every movie.

Exactly! I've been to some Disney 3D movies and there really wasn't any need for it. And to take old movies and make them 3D is silly, IMO. They should be made specifically for 3D.

And who wants to sit with those goofy glasses on all the time.

My thoughts exactly! Not to mention it honestly gives me a headache.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

My choices for a lot of the new roles in The Hobbit are:

Bilbo Baggins - Michael Sheen
Thorin - Brian Cox
Balin or Dain - Brendan Gleeson
Bard the Bowman - Michael Fassbender
Beorn - Ron Perlman
Galion the Butler - Doug Jones
Voice of Smaug - Tom Waits

And if Radagast is included in the White Council scenes then:

Radagast the Brown - John Hurt

I have literally no issues with your list at all. :lol

Good choices :lecture Especially those highlighted.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I would much rather see Tom Waits as a dwarf. He would hilarious.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Who's Galion the Butler?

At least if the script calls for anything to do with Barad-Dur, they won't have to bother with building bigatures or anything like that. It already exists!

:naughty

I've never watched a 3-D movie in the theater (I live in NE Arkansas), the only experience I've had with the feature is my nephew's 3-D copy of "Polar Express" with the cheap, cheap glasses. It was absolutely horrendous; it washed all color from the picture and it only really worked if the scene had snow blowing toward you!

Are the glasses used in a theater release much better or do you still experience the loss of color?

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Someone is mistaking Michael Sheen with Martin Sheen's son Charlie. :lol

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

There is no way Charlie Sheen is even being considered to play Bilbo. This is just a media rumor to keep people from reporting on the fact that both he and his wife are in rehab.

Charlie Sheen is NOT Bilbo daggnabbit! :cuss

:lol
