I'll be having a new head s mask sculpted so I thought I'd take the plunge and expose this ....

My verdict head and mask mediocre but ok for the money 4 of of 10

Body and tailoring solid 9 out of 10 .

No, it wasn't. There are two other pics in that Sideshow set that show the alternate head on the body. I have them.

The crappy thing about this is they didn't put the damned teeth in. That'll be a pain.

It's kind of insulting to SS to compare that sculpt to anything honestly, considering it's meant to be covered by a mask. I'm actually surprised it looks as good as it does and that there's even a face there at all.

With a sculpt like that(no teeth, awful chin/lips) it's no wonder they decided to glue the mask on.

Those photos leaked in a strange place, didn't they? Something like Weibo? I recall someone writing that the sculpt was from another company. But I don't normally buy figures in this genre so I wouldn't know.

With a sculpt like that(no teeth, awful chin/lips) it's no wonder they decided to glue the mask on.

My guess is they were planning on including the unmasked sculpt then decided to scrap it for some reason and then just used those unfinished sculpts as the head. Regardless, it doesn't matter what it looks like since it isn't meant to be seen in the first place.

Sweet mother, Nathan, it's really that bad underneath the mask huh? Yikes. That's a real turn away for me from this piece. I wonder if Beto's maskless Pt. 3 would work on this?

It was meant to be seen. They just got cheap. The mask was originally removable, and it was going to have an alternate bloody head and axed mask option.

I'd love it if they redeemed themselves by offering a mask off version. I'd absolutely buy it. Or just sell the alternate head as some sort of bonus pack accessory. It's an intolerable travesty that that perfect Jason, the best ever made, is held back.

That sculpt looks amazing, spot on really. I would have displayed him with his mask off.
