SSC 1/6 501st Legion Clone Trooper

To weigh in on the weathering, the quality of the Proto weathering is one of the reasons I pulled the trigger on this one so fast, besides the fact it was the 501st ( I still haven't ordered the Shocktrooper)
The initial proto paint just blew me away & while I recognise that proto to production apps have changed a lot on past figures I kinda figured it was a sure bet with this piece as the Utapau clone was done so well IMO

The 501st arrived up here today...just a quick shot and some brief comments...

Like the rest of the clones Sideshow has produced so far, I think this one's great. The new body suit that had it's debut on the Phase l Lieutenant, still looks good, as does the new stand.

On the oft-discussed "weathering"....well, it's the "cleanest" clone we've gotten so far, that's for sure. I can certainly understand why folks are "disappointed" when you look at the photos on the box and compare it to the finished product. Like I mentioned a few posts back...it's almost like a step in the detailing process went missing here. Now if you ignore the box shots and just take the figure deco'd "as is", it's actually all right...just less distressed than we've seen thus far. I think it looks fine...

I rarely get any SW but this are my favorite clones so def purchase for me. I also have an awesome weathering technique.

Great review bud. Only thing... 41st Elite saw a hell of a lot of combat. They were protecting Coruscant from the Jedi during Order 66, so they saw a hell of a lot so they'd likely have more BD than the 501.

Thanks Nam! I hope I'm getting better at this. Its fun for me and I love sharing it with the board. Yeah, they saw some but I wouldn't have thought more than the 501st but you very well could be correct based on protecting the city.

yeah, I think that's where it gets abit tricky. All those clones on Kashyyyk were also 41st, but we never saw them wear the gray/white armor there, so maybe some did off-screen somewhere? I guess there's still alot of EU stuff to be written to take care of all the technical stuff
