I have used colored acrylic rods in the past. You can find a wide variety here: https://www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/plastic_rods_tubes_shapes/colored_acrylic_rod/148. You will want to know the diameter of what you're looking for though. Sorry I don't be more help, I don't own any of the statues. My work is primarily 1/6 scale. Nope, becuase those ALLWAYS look like *** when you're done.

Both enterbay and sideshow have already attempted that, and failed.

yup, they do. As well as wires coming out the bottom.

you can hide the wires quite good.
Drill a hole in the middle of the hilt -> lead them away behind the hand as cover -> up the arm sleeves and you can barely see wires

the missing "tip" is only visible in bright daylight. But the cathodes are so bright, that in dimmer light they "overframe" the missing top part.

That can never work with a clear tube/rod because light will only appear at the very tip of the rod. You'd need a specially made rod with many points of refraction to be able to see the light out the sides.

Cold cathode is easy, cheap and very effective - the most realistic option available.
