Yup thats the RROD almost everyone that has a 360 has seen it at least once and some of us more. MS will fix it for free and if I was you I would get the elite and sell the old one when it gets back from MS.

No matter how good the games are, to continue to have this issue years after the release is inexcusable. Microsoft is gettting lazy because it's cheaper to ship you a new "referbished" one than to actually fix the problem. I refuse to support this, and if more people did, maybe it would be fixed so we could enjoy the games without this added stress. If you're going to but one, pick one up second hand and pay half the price, they all RRODat some time.

4 times for me i think. i had a day 1 system though and they keep repairing it. haven't had a problem in over a year.

i don't think the new systems have the problem plus if you download the game to the harddrive then you won't have a problem.

i'd do it all over again, even after 4 breaking down on me, it's really worth it.

Yep

:lecture Good advice, I second the motion.

I turned on my XBox about a month ago...got the red rings. Turned it off and turned it back on.......no problems. I think my console was just playing mind games with me......it's a conspiracy! :horror

I have not had RROD yet ( knocks on wood ). I have a launch system still going strong and an Elite that I bought a few months ago and no issues to this point.

Just remember that there are different red rings for different reasons... some signal total system failure, while others signal a bad A/V connection.

Well that's not very exciting.....I like to think mine was being a moody beeotch and wanted to give me panic attack. :lol :lol Just glad it wasn't a total system failure....that would have made me cry. :monkey2

I've had mine for almost a year now.....so hopefully I can get a few more years out of it before I have to chuck it away.

I heard from someone that the RROD means that, while you sleep, a small robotic spider is going to creep around your house looking for drugs, terrorist paraphernalia, or George Carlin books.
