I’m very excited about the comic based releases out of mezco. POd this iron man today. Wish they’d take another pass at Cap with a more durable upper body. I’ve had terrible luck with the little rubber scales peeling.

Comicave scales pretty good with Mezco. This particular figure should pair well with the Mez MCU figures. Closest mini HT 1/12 IM released so far IMO. The Mezco version is probably the best classic 1/12 IM.

Looks amazing, thanks for the picture Grabber! I'm considering buying one.. Do you have the HulkBuster by any chance?

Well that's a lot of diecast parts in my book, very happy about this.

As for Hasbro/Marvel Legends, thank you but I know what they are doing : p I didn't know about Comicave but Marvel Legends is way more distributed and promoted, so many youtubers make reviews... I have a shop that I visit every week that stocks almost every single Marvel Legend that gets a release. I always have a look at them just for the fun of seeing what character they have released but I always tell myself it's not worth it. It's just low level quality. It's not that much better than what we had in the 90's on some figures except that there are more articulations and joints. But the paint job is poor and the older I get, the more I can't stand figures that are all plastic. I need cloth material on figures. Good cloth material of course.

I'm pretty confident that Mezco will go for some deep cuts of the Marvel and DC universes in the future. They already have released some semi-obscure characters, the line as it is right now is incredible.

I will say something nice about Hasbro: I'm very happy about the Jaina Solo figure. That's the only low quality figure I've bought in years. If I'm really objective, it's not that good, but it's almost as good as some SW Figuarts, for a very low price range. I always look at the latest releases from the Black Series which are most of the time absolute garbage, but when I saw Jaina in my toy shop, I was very surprised. She's really a much better figure than most of the recent Black Series releases (all of the SW 7 & 8 figures are garbage). I didn't think we'd ever get another Jaina Solo figure. Of course I would prefer Mezco to have the rights and do her full justice, but as it stands, I'm happy. I hope Hot Toys could give it a shot as they own the licence.

But really as for Marvel Legends, the line is terrible to me. I appreciate the roster but that's about it. There's not a single figure that got me into buying it, even Wolverine. It's like the most overestimated toy line out there, I'm always surprised by the great reviews they have online. I still watch some youtubers that review them for the fun of it, I love Toy Galaxy for example who does a wonderful job at it, I understand why he buys those figures and it's nice to see he's stuck with 100% plastic figures.
As for me, I've aged and I don't appreciate those cheap figures as I used to when I was a kid. I expect top quality.

:lol. Nothing you’re saying can be taken as objective the minute you say the product they are making today is comparable to what they were making in the 90’s. That’s just categorically and factually false. If you don’t like plastic figures, that’s understandable. Most of us are here because we enjoy high end collectibles. So Mezco being the next evolution of 6” figures, at least I think so as I own most of em, can be stated with objective confidence but that statement about ML is just hyperbole at best.

The IM looks really good. The diecast content is sufficient but not that much. I’d guess maybe 20-25%. Which might be a problem if it was more.

Someone was comparing with Marvel Legends so I responded to that.
$20 is still $20. Paying $20 for a Marvel Legend, for me, is throwing $20 by the window. It's just not worth it, neither financially or visually. I don't enjoy those figures.

I have collected figures ever since I was a kid, I have gone through various stuff. I loved poor action figures like Marvel Legends when I was a kid.
There was a time when I was into Hasbro, then McFarlane, then Neca, then Revoltech, Figma and even Figuarts. Then I discovered Hot Toys and my vision of toys changed. Those figures were so well done that I thought to myself "why invest $20 or $30 or even $50-$70 in figures that feel cheap compared to Hot Toys? Let's save all the money and space for Hot Toys figures".

Then came Mezco One:12 figures, and at first, I wasn't sure if it was totally worth it. I am still to this day comparing Hot Toys and Mezco figures. Hot Toys are the most realistic figures (by saying Hot Toys I also talk about Blitzway, ThreeZero and other brands doing incredible 1/6 figures) but the scale, in the long-term collecting, has become a problem for me. It takes too much space, I'm very worried about manipulating them too much and almost never toy with them (in that once I find the perfect pose, I almost never touch my Hot Toys again, I just stare at them).

Mezco are really liked Hot Toys but smaller. Of course you lose detail with such a small scale but in the end, I'm happier with Mezco figures. You often have an additional head with the figures, which Hot Toys hasn't done for a very long time. It just gives you more options. And they are more poseable globally, and I'm less stressed about posing them, they are very solid figures. And it makes you save a lot of space. But of course Hot Toys are still the best looking figs on the market.

So it's not really a matter of price in the end. It's a matter of what you prefer. Marvel Legends really does nothing for me. I respect those who still like and collect those figures but for me it's just not worth it.

Wow I googled Comicave and I had never heard of them. Thank you! 75% Diecast and light-up features, awesome. Their Hulkbuster looks incredible, how come had I not heard of this company! Do you own one of their Iron Man? I would love to see a pic of a Comicave Iron Man and a Mezco figure to compare the scale.

Yeah there amazing figures. I currently own the Mark 42 and 43. I don't have pics of them right now though.

Everyone complain about iron man height, buy his specs he is almost as big as hulk Thor ragnarok. That's one huge iron man. He should only be around Batman's height

There are "high-end" (not exactly the correct term but you'll understand my point) plastic figures like Figma, Figuarts, Revoltech... And I like some of them, just not as much as I used to. But we can agree Marvel Legends are not high-end at all right? Marvel Legends are garbage quality, comparable to the garbage we had in the 90's as kids. That was my point.

I'm also on this forum because of high end figures and I can't thank the Mezco guys enough for creating this One:12 line. They have saved the 1/12 figures Game. Enough of this Marvel Legend garbage 8 - )

You will be in trouble, I love these better than hot toys as far as posing and playing. It fills less guilty, but hot toys is better

Lol, I may be, we'll see...

To be honest, I'm not yet sure how I feel about picking up a Mezco Iron Man figure. Other than a few HT figures within the last couple of years, I haven't bought a toy for myself since my early teens (I'll be 32 this year). So buying this figure, although somewhat high-end (not sure what to call it honestly), feels more like buying a TOY, toy.

I can see the justification for the price with all the other Mezco figures because of the soft goods and headsculpts. Ultimately, I just hope I haven't dropped an extra $70 for a toy that highly resembles something you grab for $20.

Only one way to find out though.

Yes. We can agree they are not high end but I wouldn’t call them garbage either. They are doing some nice work with a breath of characters I highly doubt Mez will get close to.

Metal components are so unnecessary. I'd much rather have taken an unmasked Stark HS for $90. This is definitely a move to distance themselves from the 'overpriced Marvel Legends' image that IM has so far.

Die cast means more scratching off the paint when being posed :slap

Exactly. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Come on guys, are we seriously talking about THIS Marvel Legend Iron Man??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEf5nH8f5Mw

This can't be serious... The Mezco Iron Man is playing in another league entirely. I think they put Diecast just because they wanted to put Diecast.
Some of you guys are criticizing for nothing. I'm all for valid complaints but c'mon, this Iron Man looks gorgeous. Day One Buy for me, I hope they continue on the same track.

Yes...that IM is garbage. :duff

They put die-cast because they seem to love questionable design choices. Wait and see. Not smart to have it on the upper chest; now we will either get no movement out of that joint or it will scratch at the edge over time. I used to own a lot of die-cast robots. This is simply how it goes

I don't know if it might be of some interest to some collectors, but I was searching for basic plastic cubes to have a sort of sober presentation of my figures, and I had a lot of trouble finding what I wanted. So I actually bought cocktail towel racks and it works great. Here is how I displayed my figures as of now... It's getting a bit overcrowded.

And I finally received Deathstroke. I was unsure about buying him but he's great overall. Thanks to him I could finally find some use for a Punisher unused weapon.

Thank you man : ) Gonna need some more of those towel racks and maybe get rid of some Hot Toys for the upcoming Mezcos. I'm running out of place sadly, I wish I had much more space.
