KISS license expensive? they have their stamp on everything (probably including stamps). i think if Hot Toys wanted it, they would have it.

Maybe could've been said someplace else, but Buttmunch does have a point. Maybe a few years back medicom could justify their prices, but with so many companies snapping at their heals how can they continue to make money at this price point?

Accessories can prolong the interest of a figure for people like me who love posing them rather than protecting them behind a sheet of glass. So yeah, for that money a guitar or two would be nice. And it's not just the money... the guitars were more than instruments, they were as much a part of Gene and Ace's costume as their boots and everything else - so why not include them?

I look at these figures and think, yeah, I used to love KISS as a kid, but at around $180 I'll be spending that money on another Hot Toys, Soldier Story, DiD... or saving a few extra dollars for the next Enterbay... take your pick.

There should be a market for KISS figures, and music figures in general...isn't the collecting world screaming out for an Angus Young in school uniform? Come on medicom, I'm sure you could do as good a job on your figures for less money?

Bummer they decided against making the remaining band members. GoHastings had them at a great price during the 20% off sale... about $100 each.

Just a bump for those on the fence on picking these up. These are up on amazon through gohastings for well under $100 each. Won't post a link because if you really want these they aren't that hard to find on the site.:wave

Thanks for the heads up. I got my order in and basically got both for the price of one; and that's even with shipping. :rock

having only two KISS guys is like having Han without Chewie... but then, who wants a Tommy Thayer fig?

I don't and never have cared for Thayer or Singer, give me Peter or Eric Carr, Ace or even Vinnie. Beside, Peter and Ace were in the Destroyer era anyway.

I want all four, but with both of these two figures kind of sitting in limbo I doubt Ace and Peter will get made. At the price they have them for I don't feel bad about buying them and not getting the rest of the band. And if they do get made I won't have to look for these; not that they would be hard to find.

69$ Dang! Not bad.

Man! How their price keeps dropping, they're already cheaper then what I paid for them a few weeks ago. Before long I wouldn't be surprized if both together sold for only a hundred.

As for the rest of the group, I think Peter and Ace would be sure sellers if they came out at the price Paul and Gene are now. Especially, if they included Peter with his drum set with Gene's ax base, and Ace with his and Paul's guitars.

Great prices... still, not enough of a fan to want them in my collection.

And I imagine actual fans of Kiss not being too thrilled about the lack of instruments and missing 2 band members :lol

Got these awhile ago and I really like them. I know the instruments aren't costume specific, but they did use those models:peace

They do have 1/6 scale KISS accurate instruments. I think the site is artstudio35.com. You have to add a guitar strap but it really helps with the presentation.

Very true IMO. If they made the set of 4 with some instruments (or some anything, for that matter), you wouldn't see these in the discount rack.

Yeah at the prices it's a good deal

Where did you get the guitars?
amazon. SDtoys did a line of fender guitars and basses.

I've seen those and somehow they don't really work for me. They don't really look to scale and they appear clunky.
I've seen some fantastic 1/5 scale KISS gear as well as Beatles gear which I'm tempted to get just for display and not to go along with figures.

Boy did these ever turn out awesome, probably some of Medicoms best work imo. Like GB said, too bad i'm not that big of a fan otherwise i'd be all over that price.

I wish they had done the other two. I think if they would've released all four at once, they would've sold more.

Regarding the guitars, I thought they fit just fine. Maybe we're talking about a different scale because they do sell 9" guitars.
