I hope you don't mind me posting these rfr5671 but folks need to see your Lando as I think it is amazing.

I have a Lando skiff outfit waiting for when I get round to build a skiff.

I just want to say how brilliant it is. I love those boots man, they really make the figure!! How the chuffin heck di you bake them. Can yo do some really close up shots.

Hasbro biker scout is great with a bit of work. I still need the waist band for this one.

Boosk is also cool. This one was given to me by a good friend on the forum, and it is one of my favourite figures I have.

Bossk looks sick Dorg... what upgrades did you do to him? He's one of my planned projects as well.

My only completed upgrade was on the Gammorrean Guard... just painted the hell out of him:

Here's the thread with the how to process...

modded snowtrooper

with some effort there are quite a few hasbro offerings that turn out pretty good.
plus they are loads of fun to do....:banana

Sometimes I forget how awesome some of the Hasbro line looks reworked. I think that Count Dooku head sculpt can be the best thing they ever made, such quality. Those Gammie's are amazing too, I have 1 in storage somewhere I need to repaint.

Thanks Dorgmal, this was the second custom I ever did back in '06 when I was just learning. If I took any closer shots, you'd see how bad they are! They were my first attempts at custom boots from a step by step from a member on another board. I learned tons by doing them but I would make them completely different now. Quick rundown: Glue a boot sole to the existing foot, then cover the foot with any epoxy, I used milliput back then, but now I use Magic-Sculpt. Once the epoxy is cured, sand away to the proper shape, then super glue whatever material to that. It's a little more complex, but I don't want to hijack this thread.
I still need to rework the custom helmet too, it's something I've been saying for over 2 years.

Pick any single one by Tony DiTerlizzi. His are the best Hasbro mods/repaints of all time!

Of course, he is a professional artist (responsible for The Spiderwick Chronicles), but his "how to" and step by step instrucions set me down the path to customizing/repainting 1/6th figures. Not that I am anywhere near as talented:rolleyes:

His work is also a testament to how good some of the Hasbro sculpts actually are, underneath craptastic paint jobs.

The Leia face sculpts are great!!...Leia in Hoth outfit looks just like Carrie!...wow...that is talent!! thanks for the link!

Some of mine over on Rebelscum:

Most of those are Hasbro upgrades right before I started doing Sideshow ones.

I have other older ones I can try to dig up pics for.

And yes, Tony DiTerlizzi's work got me started too! My first customs were all attempts to copy his. Granted my face painting skills were way primitive then...

some really nice mods there, really love the Scout & snowtrooper, do you have any Tutorials on what you did?
Your Boba looks mean as too!

No WIP pics, but I can try to remember from the final photos...

Snowtrooper:
- Seperated the trenchcoat from the original pants.
- Gave him a new pair of softer white pants.
- Removed the codpiece from the belt. Belt goes over the trenchcoat.
- Built a new codpiece which goes under the trenchcoat.
- Added bendy hands with cloth gloves and new thinner boots with wrappings made from the old pants.
- Repainted all the armor with a gloss white and added correct panel details to the chest armor (the version it comes with is the "commander")
- Added strapping that connect the backpack to the chest armor.
- Replaced the cowl with a piece of vinyl from a shopping bag. (this still doesn't look right to me because its hard to get the 'nose pinch' with the way Hasbro designed the helmet)
- Oh yes, he's on a DID body too

Let me think a bit more about the Biker Scout mods...
