AMR Freaktacular Contest #2




Welcome all to another year of Spooks! Ready for Contest #2 from me? Very simple contest and it’s going to be fun with bunch of goodies to go around! First off rule time! You must be a member of the Sideshow Freaks Forum, You have to at least be apart of the forum for about 2 years with more than 50 posts, Must be 18 years or older, For this contest I want you to post and answer 3 questions below relating with the Classic Universal Monsters. You must have seen the films and know of the characters in order to enter the contest. Contest will end Sunday October 29th, 2017 at 12PM Eastern Time. I have 4 prizes to give out this go around so there will be 4 winners. Can you believe that 4 winners?! I will post this contest in the contest thread and the main Freaktacular thread. Post your answers and message me the answers too so I can keep track easily. Let’s have some more fun shall we?

3: Guess the first Universal Monster Flick I saw when I was 4. On top of that tell me a story of when you first saw the Classic Monsters. I'll reveal my story when the contest ends and I pick the 4 who will be drawn for the prizes.



Not bad at all right? This time it won’t be random I want all answers to be as heartfelt and fun. I’ll pick the first 4 to guess the film I saw that hooked me into the classics for the drawing of the 4 prizes and i'll pick out best quotes and stories. Keep that in mind. I will reveal the DVD's that will be for the two prizes when contest ends Sunday.Have fun all and stay spooky!

4.)The first Universal Monster movie I saw was Frankenstein. I actually really enjoyed the monster. Even at such a young age (about five or six) I could see he was misunderstood. His humanity stood out to me. I really connected with him and honestly I wasn't afraid of him; I was afraid for him.

I first saw this when it was on tv. It freaked me out but I liked it. Also remember seeing snippets of Abbot & Costello meet the mummy.

My first was The Creature from the Black Lagoon.... I always visited my grandparents for Thanksgiving....for whatever reason the always used to put on the UM and Godzilla , Mighty Joe Young marathons on that time of year.....

It scared me to death....but I wanted more!!!

1. Frankenstein. I always thought his story was interesting, and you have to feel somewhat sorry for the guy. He didn't choose to be brought to life! Also, I have always loved Young Frankenstein, since it spoofs Frankenstein so well, as well as A&C Meet Frankenstein (see more on that below).

2. The last line below is my favorite quote, but I'm including all 3 lines for context.
Henry Frankenstein: Look! It's moving. It's alive. It's alive... It's alive, it's moving, it's alive, it's alive, it's alive, it's alive, IT'S ALIVE!

Henry Frankenstein: Oh, in the name of God! Now I know what it feels like to be God!

3. Dracula is the first you saw. Here's my story:

I'm a HUGE Abbott & Costello fan, and so was my Grandpa. When I was very young (not sure of the exact age, but I'll guess 5 or 6), he showed me Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. I hadn't seen any of the Classic Horror films yet, so my first exposure was actually through A&C. I thought it was HYSTERICAL! I had already seen other Abbott & Costello films with him (as well as Laurel & Hardy, The Three Stooges, etc.) so that part wasn't new, but monster films were pretty new to me. I was never scared by them, perhaps because I was introduced to them through comedy.

Anyway, after I had seen A&C Meet Frankenstein, I was intrigued by Frankenstein, so I wanted to see more. So Gramps showed me more (against my Mom's wishes). And I loved them! So he kept showing me more. Dracula, The Wolf Man, The Invisible Man, etc. I got to see them all with my Grandpa, and have fond memories of them all. He died when I was 7, so these are some of the last memories I have with him. Miss ya, Gramps!!!

Thus, I will be able to pick a second winner, for the platform not used by the first winner (meaning, if the winner selects iTunes, I can then give away the UV code, and vice versa). Thanks to Movies Anywhere, most movies can now flow from iTunes to Vudu. This movie will definitely flow.
