hey wor-gar

That Moore Bond is on point. Tempted to buy the new DID Moore.

I really like the paint job on the head. It looks really nice for a mass produced
head.

Thanks ymba!

Yeah, I'm skittish about spending $200 for just the head but then again any good custom will cost that for sculpt and paint.

I was reluctant but don't regret it having had him a few days. The body and turtleneck are okay so the rest of the figure isn't a disaster, just kinda meh next to the sculpt. Revolver is very well done though I know the colour isn't movie accurate for LALD.

Got around to trying on the Moonraker suit.
The DID body is a little too wide for the suit. Particularly the belt. I could have removed the turtleneck, but felt that the spacesuit needed something under it.
I adjusted the belt but haven’t adjusted the top snap.
I wondered how the DID suit would work on the Sideshow figure :wink1:
Not, too bad... !!
Anyways, with the BC 007 due soon (hopefully) I’ll do a little more work on the MR spacesuit and keep the DID head and body on that build.

Just ordered these, slightly more accurate space boots ...

Thanks Wor-Gar. Back in the UK, I had the Action Man 007 collection. It included the naval outfit, from YOLT. My favorite though, was the skiing outfit from TSWLM. Icing on the cake would have been the union flag parachute.
Here, I do have the Moonraker 007. I put him with the others. He’s a little shorter, but the suit is baggy, and would go onto a taller figure. The laser and wrist activated dart gun are neat.

Nice collection DVD1...i'd still like to get a few of those BC figs...but the whole "nose gate" fiasco is still putting me off.

A little surprised just HOW much people are freaking out about the head but I do like and support Rocco so I'm happy it looks good. but it still looks not quite as real as HT in terms of sculpt if you ask me. but it's a killer likeness.

One too good to pas up even with the Big Chief on the way which I also like and is better for LALD.

Anyways I got it. I figure I can part out the pieces of either the BC or this I don't like and also part out stuff I'm sure won't work like the suit etc. DID are not known for good suits.

I hope one day for a good SWLM tux that can work with the head but until then I too will try the moon raker space suit just for fun since I got it off of TA last week. Biggest gripe with that is that it's not shiny, but I'll try waxing it.

Although I cannot share the love for Moonraker, I am very eager to see the mods here. I remember having such high hopes for that movie as a kid... all dashed the moment Jaws flapped his arms in an attempt to fly as he crash-landed into a circus tent. And that opening remained the best part of the movie... :slap

The good thing with this DiD Moore is that it seems to fit in seamlessly with the BCS sculpts and paintwork.

If you ever find a lead, Ray, count me in for another attempt at that TSWLM double-breast tuxedo from Yunsil.

Wor, i had an interest list going for a yunsil SWLM tux before leia, but after that disaster im a bit gunshy to go ahead with it again, it just seems like a shame to have the yunsil treatment for Connery, Brosnan and Craig and not Moore, so i may start it up again anyways and see what the interest is like

I know it was you of course, but I didn't want to mention that because I thought you were 'retired' after, well, you know. And I totally get why, believe me. But I also thought we couldn't get enough Moore love at that time -- had trouble getting enough people to drop the price to a realistic number.

Maybe now that's changed with the availability of a great head sculpt that actually suits Spy Who Loved Me Moore. Maybe more people than just you, me, gido and Ray would get onboard. Hint, hint...

meh, lets give it a shot haha

Anyone interested in a SWLM suit for one of these great new Roger Moore sculpts, PM me for a link to the thread!

Well I should clarify that I hate Moonraker lol. But I think it's a fun bash and my love for 007 includes those terrible movies. I actually think Moonraker might be the worst ever.

:lol I think my least favorite Bond remains Octopussy. Nothing at all redeeming in that one. Bond in a clown suit AND a gorilla suit says it all. I didn't think Moonraker could be topped for worst, but Octopussy managed to take the crown.

That said, I totally get the If-I-can-make-it-I-shall... especially when it comes to Bond. If I see parts that could make a particular outfit -- like for instance I still have parts to build a Helga Brandt from YOLT -- then I'm soooooooooooooo tempted to make that figure. I kind of want that TSWLM ski outfit that came with Action Man just because its ready to go... but then I start looking for the required upgrade parts :lol

I know Moonraker may have overdone it for laughs, but it is still great fun. In terms of spectacle, it is one of the best, with huge sets and cool gadgets. It's one of the main reasons i went to Venice for a holiday. The Venini glass shop is still there.

I think Quantum of Solace is the worst Bond ever, dull story, boring villian. Even the theme song was rubbish.

One of my favorite things about this forum (and I mean this sincerely) is the Bond thread and group of guys (and the secondary threads like this or the Big Chief etc.) Its why I started coming to the forum and it's remarkable that so many of the same guys are still posting... it almost always turns into a healthy discussion about the movies, favorites, least favorites and stuff like that. It's a lot of fun.

I do think that a lot of the Moore movies contend for the worst movies... even though we all love Roger. I do have to say that TSWLM is one of the greatest Bonds in my opinion and unpopular opinion, but I also believe LALD is one of the most underrated Bond movies of all time. The rest of the Moore flicks are pretty terrible even though I find something to enjoy in all of them.

But that being said All Bond actors (with the exception of Lazenby who was a bad Bond but had a great Bond movie) have their share of really bad Bond movies.

I'd still call Quantum not terrible. I'd call it middle of the road. The writer strike I think affected the script badly but I liked how grounded it was. it wasn't as visual as the other Craig movies though. For the record I also think Spectre is grossly underrated too. I even think Skyfall was overrated (but still one of my fav Bond movies!)

Here's a good game: what is the worst Bond movie for each actor that played Bond more than once?

Also, what's your worst Bond movie that is still a guilty-pleasure?

Here's mine:

Connery: Diamonds are Forever (not that its so bad its just that the prior ones are so good -- that said, I think I'd rather watch DAF than sit thru mostly boring Dr. No)

Moore: Octopussy

Dalton: Living Daylights - can't truly between the two, but I think I like the one in Mexico better just a bit - most of the time I can't even keep Dalton's titles straight.

Brosnan: Tomorrow Never Dies - I must confess my guilty-pleasure worst-Bond movie is Die Another Day

Craig: Quantum of Solace - even the title admits its failure

I remember when I was young and I was a little ticked off by all the humor seeping into The Spy Who Loved Me -- Jaws dropping the rock on his foot, the odd music cue from Lawrence of Arabia, etc -- but I had no idea where the producers had planned to take Bond and humor in the future. Thankfully I had a best friend who's favorite Bond was TSWLM and cable at that time basically played it over and over day and night for a month, so I grew accustom to the gags. It's clearly Moore's BEST Bond movie, and definitely one of the best Bonds ever. Pickings got much slimmer as time went on.

So worst movies...

Connery: Diamonds are forever
Lazenby: none
Moore: Octopussy
Dalton: none
Brosnan: damn! I have a blank! The one with Sophie Marceau
Craig: Quantum of Solace

Diamonds and Quantum are the only Bond movie that took me several viewing to watch completely.

Frankly, i loved Moore as a kid, but his only good Bomd movies are TSWLM and FYEO. The rest is ... Bad to remain polite.

Yeah me too, when I was a kid, Moore Bond was my favourite. Then as I got older I realized Connery was far superior. I think Moore played it more light hearted and his films were probably the most fun in the franchise, that's why I liked them more as a youngster. Having said that I think Diamonds Are Forever is one of the silliest Bond films.

Agree with most of what has been said here already but here is my 2 cents

Guilty Pleasure: Probably Spectre, and not so much that it's something to be ashamed of liking, but as I said I think it's grossly underrated so it's a lot to admit that I hold it in quite high regard.

Worst of each Bond

1) Connery: Diamonds Are Forever. I don't count Never Say Never Again as an official Bond movie but even if I did Diamonds still takes the cake
2) Lazenby: None
3) Moore: Direct tie between Octopussy, View to a Kill and Moonraker - they are all so bad lol
4) Dalton: Living Daylights. I don't hate either of his two films and I don't like either but License to Kill is definitely a better movie
5) Brosnan: The World is Not Enough. But Like Moore it's harder to pick out his good ones.. actually it's not that hard: Only Goldeneye. But it's a GREAT one.
6) Craig: Quantum of Solace

Might as well play best/ Favorite

1) Connery - Goldfinger with Russia and Dr. No a close neck in neck second
2) Lazenby - Obviously...
3) Moore - The Spy Who Loved Me
4) Dalton - License to Kill
5) Brosnan - Goldeneye
6) Craig - Casino Royale
