I think its good the lips are a bit big in my opinion but tbh it's the best that I've seen at the moment and no other company at this time besides cctoys has made a part 2 Joel so I'm good with what I'm getting

They may have softened the wrinkles over the cheekbones that were making the promo look too gaunt. But the chin seems to have become wider and squarer.

Yeah R_R_X said way back in this forum that when they reworked the sculpt that cctoys tried to make it less narrow and putting the updated sculpt next to the screenshot of Joel from the game looks pretty good

You can see how awful the body is in the video, it's small and makes Joel look like he doesn't have a neck and the joints are some of the stiffest ones I've ever heard on a figure.

As far as people criticizing the sculpt I personally think it's closer to Joel's character model in Part 2 however there's still something off, especially with the mouth, chin, hair could be longer and most importantly, eyes/eyebrows, they really dropped the ball with them and when you look up close you'll see why.

Funny that Joao Breda didn't remember if Joel had a watch in the game, nor remember the owl mug. They represent pretty significant bookends to his history in the games. The last gift from his daughter, to the mug he had in his last cut scene when Ellie said she'd like to "try" to forgive him.


I like with the guitar that CC put a label on the inside of it. Not sure about the strings, and don't know why they put a strap on it as I can't see that in any stills from the game.

The no-neck issue looks like one of those cases where you need to pull the rubber socket out of the sculpt and put blue tack on top of it, then replace the head so it sits higher.

I'll change the body anyway, because I have one that's already waiting, sitting in the guitar playing pose.

Funny that Joao Breda didn't remember if Joel had a watch in the game, nor remember the owl mug. They represent pretty significant bookends to his history in the games. The last gift from his daughter, to the mug he had in his last cut scene when Ellie said she'd like to "try" to forgive him.

I'm not surprised, a lot of collectors don't care much about accuracy when it comes to video game characters as opposed to Marvel and DC characters, and Joel was barely in the game so I can see why some people thought the prototype had a better likeness but I still find it funny how the majority says the CCToys Ellie has a better likeness than Master Team.

Speaking of those accessories I noticed the mug looks a bit too yellow as well, as someone who loves the characters of Joel and Ellie I wish someone had made their Part 2 older looks justice in 1/6 scale, makes me really sad I never got to the chance to work on them myself.

Promo Joel was just their original sculpt with heavier wrinkles and longer hair, their new one resembles the Part 2 character model more but it's still not entirely accurate and has some issues in the eyes and mouth.

For the people who want to pose Joel or Ellie playing the guitar like he does in the game, I found these really cheap chairs and table that are perfect for this use. From the photo’s in the reviews it seems to scale well with 1/6 figures. I’ve only just ordered it, I’ll update here when they come in.

I just watched the review the body's are pretty bad really squeaky but If I need to ill find replacements down the line and the guitar is surprisingly accurate color wise and they have the moth insignia on it just like masterteam it's just the strings that they got wrong and that's cool that they added a strap to it in case you want to pose him with it like he looked at the beginning of part 2(especially if you have the part 1 headsculpt)which I will definitely pose but I also have the same idea as Asta with putting him in a chair pose playing the guitar

I like the new sculpt enough now to get Joel, so I did. I'll make some mods to the paint though and replace the body.

100% agree with everything RRX says. If I were to sum up everything I feel about this figure in one word, it would be "disappointment".
CCT really dropped the ball on this one.

Fingers crossed Ellie doesn't turn out the same way.

Also I guess it's sorta related but Naughty Dog devs and game directors were on twitter talking about the figures

Which is pretty cool considering how stingy most people are when someone messes with their IPs.

Hahahaha, I am on my 40s, two children, how can I remember the watch or the mug in a game I played several months ago.

The scar on his nose you really need a good lighting source to see it. In normal lighting isn't easy to spot it unless you look very close.
