300 is a different kettle of fish altogether. Frank Miller is involved in crafting the sequel (and Snyder is attached and onboard, too). It's also not nearly as revered as WATCHMEN, obviously. Snyder himself has stated "over my dead body" in regards to anymore WATCHMEN. And while he's ultimately not the decider he does also speak for many who share that opinion, including the producers, DC Comics, Legendary Pictures, etc. All of whom have a stake in the rights. And we know how the fans would feel.

But, yeah... money talks. And WB could indeed try and pursue further films. It just won't be that easy for them to pull off.

I dunno. A movie showing the early years in more than just flashbacks could be decent. Not as legendary as this film would be, but in the right hands it could be decent.

Moore would probably commit suicide though

Prequels? Let's get "the novel that could never be filmed" in the theaters first then worry about more movies. This could also be called "the novel that should spawn no sequels" but hey, they did make a prequel for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. You never know...
