Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Damn, great pictures, IAT and Kobe!

If that's what Winston looks like in hand, it doesn't look as bad as I thought.

Thanks for posting the pics! It's nice to get a head start on ideas.

No problem my friend. You can definitely manage a bad paint application through lighting, that is for sure.

You got it dude. Enjoy.

I saw you delete your initial post, IAT. :lol

I plan on putting mine in one of my detolfs under the dioder light strips from IKEA, so hopefully they'll look fine under that. Those really bring out the details in figures very well. :duff

Recently moved my QMx ST figures there, and they look amazing.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

You will definitely be fine with those. Natural daylight dioders or LEDs are great for paint applications that are really magnificent, however when you have a case like Winston. Lower output is definitely more pragmatic.

Makes sense! Which those strips are indeed low output.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

great pics and reviews, iamtoys and kobe. you guys have brought out the best in blitzway's figures.

while i sympathise with those who aren't happy with how these turned out, it all boils down to what i personally see. and what i see is that the sculpts, paint apps, costume & gear, and ultimately the likenesses to the ghostbusters characters are superb. admittedly, venkman is a wee bit pudgy and winston's head is slightly undersized plus his skin tone is a bit off. but the likenesses are still there beyond a doubt.

then there is ray and egon, and based on the pics i have to say they are hands down the best likenesses of ANY 1/6 scale figure this year. ht's dr. strange and a couple others are excellent, but blitzway's work here is simply on another level. one look and you instantly see the actor and the character.

am so glad these are the two figures i have on pre-order. can't wait. and when i get them i will try to post some pics of my own.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I've been watching clips from the film in anticipation for these figures (saving watching the entire film for Halloween night :lol). The scene where they get the police escort to 55 CP West has got to be one of my favorite scenes in the film. The siren of ECTO-1 cranking up after Venkman urges the police to run red lights and the people on the sidewalks cheering as it goes by in its motorcade, gives me goosebumps each time. With all the National Guard soldiers running around and the priests and rabbis praying, it really sells the feeling that s**ts about to get real go down. :lol

Give me these figures already. :lol

There are so many emotional moments in this film. My twins are six years old, and we watch this movie at least six times a year. Lol. I almost want to cry when I watch them enjoy this movie the way I did as a kid. :)

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

also, i just wanna add that although venkman is usually the fan favourite, for me my two most beloved ghostbusters are ray and egon. they represent the heart and the head of the team.

i love how ray was always so enthusiastic yet humble, even in the face of an adoring, cheering crowd. look how he gives that modest nod and smile to the crowd in the scene silverstar posted. even when i was a little kid, i looked up to ray the most.

as for egon, i love how he was always so focused on the science and the work that he seemed like he hardly had the time or the attention span for anything else. except for spores, mould and fungus. :lol

Getting really excited for these. Egon all paid and only one payment left on my Venkman at Flossie's. I'm hoping we see these before thanksgiving. And one of Kobe's pics of Winston is probably the best I've seen of him.

It really is a film that can be enjoyed by any generation, it's literally timeless. It's a perfect blend of humor, drama and science fiction all in one, without overly trying to be any of those things. The last act still makes it feel like the matter at hand is a serious matter and lauds them as heroes at the end. They're even lauded as heroes in the scene I posted the clip of because everyone obviously feels they're the only ones that have a shot at eliminating the growing crisis.

Venkman's "wanna play rough" scene with the cheering crowd gives me goosebumps as well. Even though it's just four guys going to eliminate a ghost, it really does pump you up in the sense where it has a locker room sort of feel to it, where the team is all putting their hands in and committed to going to do battle.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I was wondering if someone who has the GB figures...if you get a chance if you could see if it looks good with the back of Egon's collar flipped up? It seems that's how his was in the first movie and since it's gonna be a little while before these get stateside...I'm wondering if turning the back of the collar up has the same effect as in the movie or if it doesn't translate in 1/6 scale the same. Thanks!

Some people have requested photographs of these guys in Detolfs, so here you go. It was difficult to get Ray to kneel, and I haven’t tried it with Venkman yet. The shot where they are on their knees, the skin tones are obviously not that dark, however because of positioning and kneeling, the light did not hit their face the way I wanted it to. The other photograph though...perfect. Additionally, for folks that don’t know, my Winston head is in the process of being repainted, so he is a no-show right now.

Thanks for posting more pics. Just to see these guys set up in a display cabinet is awesome.
I'm still in awe that Blitzway were able to offer these all at once. Imagine waiting 6-12 months for the next figure.

Hey, IAT & KoBE, does the cigarette fit in Ray's mouth? I remember reading that was a possibility.[emoji868]

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Nice so the whole GB crew and set fit in a detolf.

I would have Ray and Egon on one shelf looking down (and Winston too if you're getting him), Ray and Slimer on the shelf below, recreating the 'I think he heard you Ray' moment.

Let’s squash that perception right here, Winston’s head looks fine in person.
