Was at my son's school today for enrollment and a couple of the kids were watching a bootlegged version of Endgame... I'm so happy I watched this last night or I could have seen some real potential spoilers.

One more additional thing I realized after a good night's sleep from watching the movie that could be a negative:

The Infinity Stones (the Power Stone in particular) should be too much for most beings to handle. The Power Stone almost vaporized the entire Guardians team almost instantly after holding them. How could Stark hold up long enough to snap after acquiring all 6?

Granted I get that him ending the Infinity arc would be an apt ending (him beginning the MCU and all) but that's a pretty big retcon on the power of the stones. I get that Thanos can handle it, or even the Hulk (for a limited time as shown), but Stark seemed to hold up a little too well (it took too long to kill him).

As a positive (and I don't think this is a spoiler but I'll tag it anyway):

Thanos is much more menacing here than he was in Infinity War. In Infinity War he's almost a sympathetic character. Here he's just cold and calculating.

come to think of it, you're right....they really could've picked up the tesseract along with the aether since it was already back on asgard during TDW. Maybe they thought it's easier to take it from their old selves rather than having to go through the vault security haha..

One more additional thing I realized after a good night's sleep from watching the movie that could be a negative:

That moment Stark stole the gems from Thanos was awesome in so many ways - mainly 'cause it's the opposite of what happened in the final fight of Batman Begins (HISHE made a good point - considering the device was Waynetech, how did Bruce or Lucius not know to turn off the machine?)and by that point I really thought they'll be losing again. Stark was so quick in taking the gems -even Thanos didn't realize they were gone - that I thought the only way he could've done that was if he built some kind of a overriding mechanism into the nanotech gauntlet itself.

Loved the film but personally preferred IW more because that was non-stop action from the get-go. My few gripes on Endgame though :

1. For some reason, I hated captain marvel in this movie. I liked her in her solo film but for some reason, this version of her just feels like a total arrogant snob - opposite to what she was in her solo film. Her character felt disconnected from the other Avengers and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't satisfied to see Thanos knock her out with a power stone-induced punch at the end.

2. Liked Thor, but shame about the design in his final movie and his greatly reduced power levels at the end. As a collector, I'm not sure I'd want a beer belly Thor in my collection

3. I thought that Stark was shortchanged with his funeral processions. I mean c'mon, this dude not only saved America or the Earth, but he saved the entire UNIVERSE ! He was the reason they even had a fighting chance to begin with, and he was the ultimate reason why they were saved. Even if beings around the cosmos couldn't give Stark their gratitude, at the very least, I thought they should have turned his funeral procession into a real ceremony watched by the world over (much like when Superman died in the Doomsday story), complete with a few words of appreciation from the remaining Avengers and some world leaders.

4. Why wasn't Widow given a send-off like Stark? Her sacrifice was a key part of their victory too.

I wonder how much these things would stack up down the road. Obviously now hype for the movie is really high and it did a good job as an ending to some story arcs. However, I wonder if this movie will hold-up later when people have come to process it a bit. Don't get me wrong, I really liked it but there are some nagging issues.

Overall I'd say this is probably at the bottom-end of the Russo-led films. That doesn't make it bad (the Russo MCU entries were great) but I think it doesn't hold-up to IW or WS. I think this is closer to or below CW.

• The real savior of the universe was a rat. We need to give that rat recognition.
• I would love to see how Cap returned the Aether.
• I wonder how Cap would react to what's on Vormir.
• Was good to see Jarvis from the Agent Carter series appear in Endgame. Was he ever in the MCU movies?
• I wish getting ripped and losing all that extra fat was as easy as it was for Thor!
• Tony gets closure with his dad. I think this was an underrated scene so far and I think this was an important development for this character.
• So time-traveling Nebula is essentially a cloned SIM card. I'm surprised she didn't think of this.
• Missed opportunity to show Gamora telling Nebula she found the map to the Soul Stone.
• Hail Hydra. That was unexpected.
• Cap vs Cap had the single best one-liner in the MCU.
• I want to hang out with the Hulk now.
• New memes coming. x3000.

As a man of my word I refused to pay money for this and watched the bootleg as soon as it hit torrents. If that offends you, well.....don't know what to tell ya.

And now here comes the resident naysayer.

I'm sorry guys. I know you think I love to poop on everything just for the sake of pooping on stuff. I assure you, I don't.

This is NOT a bad movie. It's good...it's really good.....but it's also not "EPIC!!!!!!" "FLAWLESS!!!""" "PERFECT!!!!!"

I think the excitement of the "new" is washing over everyone.

Infinity War was better. I think IW was the absolute peak of the MCU.

Also.....please name ONE more loathsome, smug, entirely unlikable character that can possibly be more detestable than Captain Marvel in this movie, whom the producers gravely miscalculated and thought audiences would "love" (that isn't named Jar Jar.)

Satisfying ending.
Bit predictable.
Still bored by the fight scenes, one cut style CGI shot after another. Never really cared for the MCU style action, except when it's stunt work.
The fun scenes were too long, selfie, new Asgard...
Dude stop.
Thor or cap Marvel, wasted...
As for the sweet ending it was cool but ****s up a lot.

And do you remember who was in said vault?
They would have been destroyed on the the spot.Plus...that timeline would have changed with Loki stealing it now.
The way it panned out was the more emotional choice and the right 1.

I also still think Iron Man mark 50 in IW was the best armor of them ALL. Maybe it was those big round shoulders. Dude musta been lifting. Endgame armor is fine of course, but simply not as cool.

Just watched it. Thought I was ready, but nope It's a lot to take in and you definitely need multiple viewings of this film. I'll be going to see it again. I thoroughly enjoyed it, although in different ways when comparing to Infinity War which means it was a success in my opinion. I would still give the slight edge to IW, but I suppose that really isn't fair considering how many times I've seen it.

• Tony Yeah, I cried. Looking back the first Iron Man film literally changed my life for the better, as I'm sure it did for so many. It opened up my eyes to an entirely new universe. Hard to see him go.

- There are issues that I can't stop thinking about though, namely the ridiculous buffoon they turned Thor into. Showing his true depression, guilt and anger could have made for some emotional moments but instead we get a bloated, trashy, drunken Aquaman lookalike? Really?

- The returning Avengers and extended teams made for a great scene but it felt too rushed. The emotional connection was somewhat missing for me and perhaps having a proper reunion prior to Thanos and gang arriving would have been better. Like the calm before the storm, I suppose.

- I'm not a fan of Professor Hulk.

- Captain Marvel. I enjoyed the stand alone film but here in Endgame she comes across as an emotionally devoid snob. As if Earth is on the bottom of her to-do list. Get lost in space, lady.

I wasn't thrilled about the ending, but it really did tie up just about everything. I can say with certainty that I have now watched my very last MCU film. Could not possibly care less about anything that's gonna come after this. Just like Mark Millar's The Ultimates was essentially a blueprint for the entire MCU, I knew I was done with Ultimates when his story was over. (And boy of boy did they end on almost the exact same image.) I'm satisfied. Not blown away.

And YES....even me, the grumpiest, most cynical bastard on this board got misty eyes several times. It was a decent send off to a wonderfully ambitious longterm project. Can't help but wonder if the box office numbers are gonna start declining after this. I sure as hell am never going to watch the adventures of Spider-Man's horrifically obnoxious fat Asian friend.

Oh, and one REAL spoiler....you've been warned.

I hated, hated, hated seeing Tony die. (Didn't care about Natasha.) RDJ is the absolute heart and soul of these films...they're kidding themselves if they think it'll be a fraction as profitable without him. Just like TFA. I love Han Solo and I know he was never gonna live forever, but I never in million years wanted to see him horribly murdered on screen. Just really feels mean spirited. I know, Tony sacrificed himself for the greater good, blah blah. But still.....I didn't want to SEE it.

Oh, and a non spoiler.....if you hated Captain Marvel before, like I did, just wait til you get a load of Carl Manvers. Ugh, I think I broke out in hives.
