So, earlier today I was rereading my texts, and I noticed, all of my outgoing texts would be deleted in the older conversations, has this happened with anyone else? Or is my phone just broken? all help is appreciated

Check your text message setting. Default settings usually have the phone set to start deleting older messages once you reach a cetain capacity.

Yeah, something like that happened to me the other day--all the text messages got deleted, it was because I had run out of phone memory. Not the same phone though but it's probably the same thing

maybe so, I've read up on it, it's happened to a few other people, it may just be that it's the carriers choice of how many message THEY believe YOU should have on your phone :lol

Welcome to the "open" and "free" world of Android. This is the same openness cited by the FCC as reason to ____ us all on net neutrality.

Anyway, I've found the fastest way to delete text messages is to just long-press a conversation in Handcent and delete it. If you need backups, use "SMS Backup" https://www.appbrain.com/app/sms-backup/com.zegoggles.smssync I dunno if that will back up everything you have right now (You may need "MyBackup" for that https://www.appbrain.com/app/mybackup/com.rerware.android.MyBackup ) but it will catch and back up any new text messages from now on.
