I'd be interested in reading this as well. I've never really watched horror movies, as I'm not a big fan of the genre, but reading through the discussion here is really interesting, and the entire topic is quite fascinating.
 
I'm currently working on the following chapter:

Hollywood Re-Animator: Boldly Going Where We've Already Been Before... And Changing The Way We Remember It!

It's a short chapter about remakes and how they tend to deliver more backstory and make the characters less accurately offensive portrayals of people with disabilities. For example, Gunnar Hansen's Leatherface is based off of real physical traits and ticks of people with intellectual disabilities, while the remake one has better motor skills (pun intended) and he suffers from a fictional skin disease that makes him look more like a skeleton and less like the classic portrayal of the mentally retarded.
