Yup, good movie.
Can't disagree with that honestly. It was even better than the sequels from the '90s and beyond in some ways.

While I do love Aliens and feel it is the quintessential 80's action flick, alongside some other notables, I was referring to the original film, Alien.

Really is one of the best movies ever, it really stands the test of time.
My favorite scene, personally I feel the remake with Sigourney Weaver was weak and a bit contrived.

I laughed so hard the first time I saw that scene in Spaceballs.
And then many years later when I was first dating my wife I was explaining some of my favorite spoofs and I came to the scene from ALIEN/Spaceballs. She hadn't seen ALIEN so I had to set the chestbursting scene and then I explained the Spaceballs parody. Apparently I was talking to fast or something because after I got done going over the little alien with the spotlight and top hat she stopped me and said, "wait, which movie are you talking about ALIEN or Spaceballs?"
I seriously rolled on my carpet laughing for like five straight minutes at the thought of her picturing the horrific scene from the 1979 classic ending with the "Hello My Baby" number.

Yep - in my top five for sure.
There hasn't been a better SciFi/Horror mash-up since.
I love Alien. Easily the best in the series and a classic.

Alien is absolutely the classic of the series (obviously there wouldn't be a series without it) but I prefer Aliens and Prometheus over it.
