Re: 1-6th X-wing project

Have you considered a Digital Photo Keychain?

You might be able to make an animated slide show. This one is only $10.

Re: 1-6th X-wing project

Honestly I think the printed screen back lit (like the previous image) looks great. Sometimes the simple solution is the best :lecture

I thought I'd see what your bird would look like with wings

Ow my trousers!!!!!!!!
That is amazing ow ow ow I have had an accident down stairs ow ow am again that's so cool, 3d studio max? You little tinker I love it do it again do it again! Serriously that it magic. I looked at a 3d program a while back but I just decided I really don't have the time and I will leave it to the pros I just can not stop looking at it with wings :pfft::horror thank you so much that is most inspirational and I think Barbie boy is totally right. I am trying to over complicate things and simplicity is the bast and I need to walk before I can run, or fly. There will always be other projects to experiment with and other ships on my list ow that list!

Re: 1-6th X-wing project

Calm down, don't hurt yourself!

I used Blender and Gimp (two open source graphics programs). I'm a Linux geek.

Glad you liked it. I can mock up a few more if you need.

Re: 1-6th X-wing project

ARE you telling me you built that in blender!!! Ow my word that must have taken ages I can not get into that program! I tried but all I could make was a sausage!

I love that new shot! I will take a couple more pics today fully loaded with plainish backgrounds and send you a file to play with SO COOL>

Re: 1-6th X-wing project

One more for the day. I've done some 3D modelling in blender, but I did not build the x-wing mesh (if I knew who did the mesh work I'd give a credit) It just one of the many star wars models floating out there without attribution to the artist.

I setup the 3d space with the model, cameras, area lights, ambient occlusion, and then position the camera and focal length to resonably match yours. I render to a file output, and then use Gimp to overlay a piece of your xwing.

So I have cut most of the bits out but have to dremel some parts because of the way it was constructed... humm
WARNING
