Cool, this is pretty awesome. I like your use of the RC Car Servo arm. BTW what are the make and models of the RC cars you have on your shelf. I was big into that hobby a few times in my life. My dad and I also built a 63" wing span RC plan back in the day.

Ahh cheers my friend. I really appreciate your comment and it gets me more fired up the more folks comment.

I am gonna build a base for it I think, to hid the stand. That could be a hanger floor. It would be great with DarthImpoors rebel transport!!

Sounds good. I'm game. Is there an island 1/2 way across the pond? We could all meet there and play and have a wicked photo shoot. Heck, maybe when you're done with this, you can fly it over! Freaking outstanding mate. Not to hijack, but for any infrequent visitors, Marks talking about this little project:

It was good at the time, but I've learned more since then and I need to make a better one, but this X-Wing is amazing. We're running out of accolades man.

This is the larger x-wing miniature built for Empire that had extra detail. They did some different detailing around the engines and droid slot.

Oh my word Kamandi those pics are outstanding and MASSIVE I wished I had them a while back but they are stunning and really useful I can not thank you enough.

Jeff... I still think your transport is great, such a bummer we are not just a wee bit closer.

OT man I love RC cars. The ones on the self are not to exciting just a grasshopper and a Frog with a Bug top. I rebuilt two sand scorchers a while back. I love em but I had to sell them to buy a RC car for me boy. They have just re released the s scorcher but its like £400!!!!! insane.
The plan was a real mistake, only one flight.. one second.. one crash .

Not masses of time today chum came round and we talked 1/6th pub building, pickled onions and actionman top time!!

Man,I thought the background pics I saw of it way back when you did the Mos Eisley street dio were incredable.I am just simply blow away by the work you've put into it these past few weeks.Keep up the great work.

Cool. The pics are by Jedilaw who does some really exceptional 3D modelling on Scifi-meshes. Just to add appropriate credit. This is the ~4 foot high detail X-wing built for Empire (and barely used) and saw better use in Jedi.

That thing must be huge. I'm guessing your X-wing has a slightly larger footprint as a Queen sized bed with the wings attached.

Since you haven't gone too far with the wings I thought this might be useful as well. Fine Molds had access to ILM's models and did very accurate measurements so they could produce models.

I would also strongly suggest joining the Prop Replica Forum if you haven't already. These guys take their analysis and measurements very seriously. As a bonus Adam Savage from Mythbusters hangs out there, so that's pretty cool too.

Ow my word!!!!! Well thats all amazing! I had a look at the rep forum and chuffin eck!!! som stunning stuff on there but way out of my league, their stuff makes mine look like its made from sticky back plastic and a couple of cereal boxes and painted with a yard brush!!!

I can not thank you enough!

As for the wings... alas that idea is a no no I just have not got the space

The only other thing I am going to build for it it the front leg.

Well I was up earlier and today has been a learning curve... Chuffin air brushing give me a 2" brush any day!!!! Ok so its flat and smooth and pretty but nurse episode 7 will be out before I get one bit done at this rate.. so I had a cuppa tea did me nails and put on some great lake swimmers and got back on with it.

I can just start to see it taking shape and I think I am gonna do one area at a time rather than the whole thing at once. So next up will be starting to colour the panels. It seems that all x-wings are different (thank the lord) so I can do just about what I like... well I would of anyway!

Whilst I am waiting to give it some more grief I am gonna have a look at the area behind the R2 unit.

This is so cool Mark... I was away for a few days and its so much fun seeing this many updates one right after the other.
