I think it’s close between this and the neutral ROTJ sculpt but I prefer the new one. I always felt the eyes were slightly too predominant on the ROTJ sculpt and the posable eyes prevent that and give the eyelids the proper depth.
Yeah in likeness they are about equal imo but I always think that for most characters the more neutral expression a sculpt is, the better (even though I do like the slightly open mouth - I know some people didn't - because that's how Luke is much of the time in ROTJ. )
The neutral expression does run the risk of looking a bit "dead" (problem with some HT Leia sculpts imo) but this new closed-mouth sculpt has just enough determination/life in the expression to offset it.
Great that the paint apps on the older Luke Jedi head still holds up well beside this one, and it'll be fun to figure out which sculpt (ROTJ or Mando) works best for which ESB or ROTJ outfit/look, and which ESB hairpieces will fit until the new Bespin figure comes out.
It's great that this new head has aleardy been slotted into the new Luke Bespin and there'll likely be a couple of off-shoot releases of it (like the Endor/sail barge release after the Luke Jed, in this case probably a Dagobah Luke plus also some minor Mando/BOBF variant) to come in the next three years so this head should be as available as the regular Luke Jedi head.
With ESB/ROTJ Luke pretty much taken care of permanently now (I'd argue we still don't have a close-to-perfection ANH Luke), it really does draw attention to the fact that we still have no "definitive" or "close to perfect" Han headsculpt in 1/6, for any of the OT movies. I have all the available ones from HT and SSC and the Jnix is the only one that fits that category.
