Hot Toys Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire) - Spider-Man: No Way Home

The body comes down to what version you're trying to mimic. For me, I rather have the more superhero stunt double version seeing as what we see 99%, if not 100%, of the time with the mask on is the stunt double or a CG double. Rarely do you ever see him masked up, swinging and fighting with Tobey's actual body.

Peter Parker appearing more nerdy and skinny while Spider-Man coming across more buff is fine with me.

He’s not as big and muscular as the stunt double. He was quite thin which is where I’m sure HT got their reference material.

Let’s not pretend Hot Toys actually tried to match the physical proportions of anyone here.
They tailored the suit around a generic body and called it a day.

Not pretending. Just glad we got a more accurate body for height and proportions for what I wanted. Not knocking anyone who wants their figure the way they want it. I’m just pointing out the reasons why I like the one I have with screen accurate shots to back it up.

I’m glad you like it. I just wish I could be happy with the long awaited figure of my favourite Spider-Man.

Same lol. Kinda crazy how they seem to not care either. Like maybe they should redo red and blue spidermann since they redid the black suit for 3. Or just put more energy into tobey spiderman instead of so many tom hollands. Just a thought. We could use a 1/4th tobey

I hope they also use scarlet spider's suit material as that's the best one that gives a lot of articulation. A new Red and Blue from Spider-Man 3 would be welcoming with a Peter sculpt to go with it.

Honestly Hot Toys Tobey is straight st but it's the best st there is so we got no choice but to get it or get it and blow money on customs which I'm REALLY happy with how they look, absolutely love everything about that custom. I doubt they will do a better job if they make him again, just can't see it. I wish they do but they won't.

I understand the frustrations. I felt the same way about the S3 release years ago. I loved it initially once in hand because of the fine detailing on the raised webbing and seamless head/neck design. But slowly started to actually look at what they gave us. Turkey neck sagging under the chin, weak ankles that broke too easily, weak plastic for wrist pegs that broke way too quick, too tall and too muscular for Tobey.

It really is a shame they can’t seem to get the perfect version even after several tries with some figures. You’d think that a 2.0 would be spot on after all the different technologies they’ve implemented over the years for these figures. Sadly it’s not the case.

Yea that last Tobey figure was 2010 or so. Crazy how 1. They haven’t made any raimi figures since then and 2. They didn’t do a good job on this.

But of course mcu Disney Spider-Man gets the best tailored suits and has a 1/4th figure. Weird

They'd probably have been better off using smooth spandex in a single dark red shade rather than the patterned material they went for here.

It's true that the Raimi suit has a printed texture, but from most distances it looks like solid color. If the proportions were correct and the mask more angular (and without seams), this figure would look so much more like it appears in the film. Instead it looks, well, like a toy.

Makes you wonder if Sony themselves are determining what gets produced. Leaving behind the old Spider-Man franchises for the newest ones seems more like a business decision on their part.

I wouldn’t put it past them. Sony is stupid but it’s Disney who is in charge of the merch rights. That was the deal long ago. So of course they’d want holland Spider-Man front and center more so than last projects

That looks like an actual person in a suit and not a figure. Not Toby in the suit, but maybe one of the stuntmen. Just a bit too large for Toby. Impressive nonetheless.

Yeah I'm not a fan of that neck. Just looks too thick for Raimi Spider-Man.

This is definitely a happy medium between the larger custom and the HT figure. Muscular but not too big.
